Well well well my first event of 2018 and it was a good one!

I received a ping in my email asking me if I would like to come to the launch event of Vapiano Glasgow.

When I read this a little ding happened in my head “I know that name”, then I saw where it was located and BINGO! that’s where I knew the name from….I had recently passed and seen the signs it was opening so I said yes and added to my calendar.

It was time to head to the event…

First Impressions :

As I arrived there was a red carpet and balloons outside, which was very cool and I felt like a VIP.

If you know Glasgow this was where HMV used to be situated, and prior to that I believe was a hotel.

As you enter you pass the reception area, this I heard is where you will pay your bill at the end of the night (Vapiano correct me if I am wrong). Continuing upstairs I arrived and was greeted and given a glass of prosecco.

Looking about it was very very very nice, and tonight was very very busy.

The kitchen area is open and everyone can see the pizza, pasta etc all getting made by the chefs which is very cool and adds a really nice touch.

Time to find a seat..

The Food :

I asked a waiter about the plan for tonight, and it was just ask for drinks and they would bring food to us throughout the night….sounded good to me 🙂

On the table for us the antipasti was already waiting, this was very nice and everything was very fresh and tasty.

Next was the pasta, now we had 3 different types….tomato, pesto and mushroom. My favourite was the pesto pasta mmmm was so good. The others were very nice to, but I love pesto so this was my clear winner.

Due to me jumping up and down to take photos, and do a few live Instagram videos I missed the pizza rounds…….but finally I caught the attention of the waitress and grabbed some as this is what I wanted to try the most tonight.

Unfortunately again I was a bad food blogger and just went in for the kill with the pizza before taking a photo, but I can tell you the base was thin and the pizza I had was very cheesy and it was nice.

I would like to come back and try a pasta and a pizza or two 🙂

Overall :

The whole event was very good, we had good food, good drinks and also a DJ playing really good tunes from start to end.

One part near the end of the night, the manager stood up and thanked all the kitchen staff and waiters for tonight excellent service which was very true it was flawless.

Looking around everyone was having a really good time, laughing, eating and just having a really good night.

I cant comment on the cost as I was invited to this event, but when I return I will tell you what I think of the prices.

A big thanks to Vapiano Glasgow for my invite and you WILL see me again 🙂

Please do check Vapiano Glasgow out as I really cant fault anything tonight and am sure you will love the food 🙂

See you soon!

I have recently visited the Caffe Monza in Glasgow West End, and really enjoyed my snacks there. When I got the invite I couldn’t say no, as 1. I enjoyed the West End one and 2. I hadn’t been to Ayr for a while.

Cafee Monza were nice enough to put on transportation from Glasgow, to take any bloggers all the way through to Ayr. This was amazing and very very nice of them to do this, so a big think you Caffe Monza.

We all met at George Square and hit the road to Ayr.

Caffe Monza is in the main town area of Ayr, and on arrival was nicely light up and we call couldn’t wait to get inside and enjoy the event.

When we entered it was packed, and the atmosphere was buzzing.

The Food :

I decided to have a Panini with a coffee and a cake, but the hard part was what Panini coffee and what cake…hmmm.

Caramel Crunch Latte N/A (Normally £3.50)

Overall :

Tonight was very good, I heard it was friends and family and a few bloggers. Looking around it was packed so this was a very successful evening.

Throughout the night we had a girl singing and playing the guitar, she was very good and I enjoyed her style and tone.

Again I would like to give a big thank you to Caffe Monza for the invite and putting on the transportation, the driver even dropped us all at our on houses at the end of the night so a massive thank you to him to.

If your ever in Glasgow West End, or even in Ayr do visit Caffe Monza and try a few items you will not be disappointed.

Thanks again Caffe Monza and see you soon. x

Corinthian New Brasserie Menu Launch (Glasgow) : Review

I have been to the Corinthian a good few times, mostly for the Afternoon Tea which is my favourite in Glasgow. Inside has always had a lovely and relaxing atmosphere, and also the staff have been very friendly and helpful.

Last week I got an email inviting me to tonight’s event, which was to try something from the new menu….well I love my food and I like the Corinthian so I couldn’t turn it down.

I was looking forward to trying this menu, as I have never really been in here for food. Its always been Afternoon Tea, or for a few drinks so it was now time to sample the food.

img_3391

On entry I was welcomed and shown to my table, if you have never been here there are effectively 3 seating areas in here. The first being the ones on the left as you go in, these are booths with a big chair. These are more for couples, and this is where I was seated tonight. The next is the middle are, which has a few group tables, and then the far right which is booths and tables again for groups.

The Food…

Starter

Potted Chicken Liver Parfait £N/A (Normally £6.95)
Pear Chutney, Pea Shoot Salad & Brioche Toast

img_3408

I always like to try this at any restaurant, as its interesting how they all differ and how they present it.

This was presented very nicely, and looked very good, my first thought was maybe 1 more brioche toast would be good but lets see how I get on.

I have to say this was the best Chicken Liver Parfait I have tasted so far, it was very very smooth and full of flavour and it worked amazing with the Brioche Toast. I was correct though, there was still enough parfait in the little pot enough for one more slice.

I would have this again!!!

Main

Herb Crusted Ayrshire Pork Fillet £N/A (Normally £14.95)
Toulouse Sausage & white bean Cassoulet

img_3434

I spotted 3 dishes I wanted to try, but I opted for this as it sounded nice. My second option would have been Peterhead Haddock and Chips, as it sounded very good.

When it arrived, the presentation and smell was very good so I was looking forward to seeing how this tasted.

This was very nice, and cooked just right as it was not mega chewy which is always my pet hate when it comes to dishes like this.

Dessert

Brandy Soused Strawberry Creme Brulee (V) £N/A (Normally £5.95)
Shortbread

img_3437

Presentation again this was very good, and it looked very good.

I tried the shortbread first, and this was very good I love shortbread.

Moving on to the Creme Brulee, this was again perfect and very very nice. This and the shortbread for me was a perfect combination.

I would have this again!

During the meal, a live quarter was performing they were called Strings Aloud. Due to the design of this building, and due to it being strings the acoustics were amazing and the sound was very relaxing and created a very very nice atmosphere for everyone.

Overall :

I am very pleased I got tonight’s invite, as I learned that here does very nice food where are before in my mind it was more a cocktails and Afternoon Tea location.

I cant fault anything tonight, all 3 courses were very nice, the service was good and also the atmosphere was perfect.

I would like to thank the Corinthian again for my invite, I had a very enjoyable evening and will see you soon.
