Mozza (West End, Glasgow) : Review

I have been to Mozza before, I was actually at their opening for the branch in the city centre and it was a great night.

Their pizza’s were really good, and I have been back a few times since it opened.

They recently opened this new branch in the West End of Glasgow, on Byres road and they invited me to come and try some pizza to take home and enjoy.

The Pizza’s

I ordered number 10 and 11 (without walnuts)

10. tomato sauce, mozzarella, goats cheese, spinach, caramelised onion, sun blushed tomatoes, extra virgin oil

Firstly how good do they look, instantly mega mouth-watering!!

The base was nice and thin, the crush was nice and fluffy and the whole flavour was really good.

I would easily have this one again, and I am giving it a solid 5/5

Rating: 5 out of 5.

11. mozzarella, gorgonzola, parma ham with fig, pear and white balsamic jam, rocket, crushed walnuts, extra virgin oil

This one sounded interesting so I thought lets order it, though I did ask for no walnuts as I am allergic to them.

The flavours that hit you as soon as you take a bite was just WOW, you could taste everything and it all worked perfectly together.

I loved the pear and white balsamic jam, this really lifted the flavours to the next level.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The Little Cafe (Glasgow, West End) : Review

The Little Cafe
1361 Argyle Street
G3 8AF

0141 337 2068

V: 10th December 2019

I have walked past The Little Cafe many times when going different places, and always looked in and thought I need to check them out.

I saw from the window they did pizzas and ciabattas etc, last Saturday I popped in and got a ciabatta for lunch and it was VERY GOOD.

Today I went in for dinner and here is what I thought.

Looking Around

Inside is just like a little cafe, with some booths and some tables.

Tonight was very busy but we managed to get a table, and started to think what to order.

Pizza :

Chorizo Pizza £8.00

On arrival it looked a good size and visually very nice.

The flavours were really nice, and the base was thin which after finishing the pizza I found it very easy to digest where other times I have had pizza I felt a little bloated.

The base was a little crispy, but I didn’t mind as the flavour was very good.

Overall I enjoyed my pizza, and already planning on going back to try a few other dishes and the cakes as they looked good.

I got talking to the owner / chef and he is a really nice guy, and inside had a nice cosy friendly atmosphere.

See you soon Little Cafe.

DryGate Brewery NEW Bar Food and Cocktail Menu (Glasgow) : Review

V: 6th March 2020

The guys over at DryGate Brewery, invited me over to the launch night of their new bar Food and Cocktail menu.

Looking Around

I have been to Drygate many times, with friends or with the craft beer tasting tours so I know it very well.

The event tonight was upstairs, the new menu for upstairs only.

The Food

I didnt know what was in store for me tonight, but I was mega looking forward to it.

I was told that a sampler would be brought round to me, and I could select 2 cocktails to try which was great.

  • Pizza By The Slice
  • Cauliflower Wings (VG)
  • Tacos : Crisp Fried Haddock
  • House Made Nachos (V)

All of these samples were very nice, and full of flavour, my favourite from this selection was the Cauliflower Wings and I could have easily had more.

The fish taco was nice, but the taco broke up for me very easily so I couldn’t grab and eat, I had to use my knife and fork.

And there was more..

This was Drygates Vegan Curry was served in a tiffin tray with bread, rice and dips.

Presentation wise I really liked this, and as you can see its very instagramable… for the taste..

This was a VERY good curry, and extremely moreish.

If you like currys you need to try this, and I promise you you wont regret it.

Cocktails :

Orinoco Russian : Vodka, Coffee Liqueur, Orinoco Syrup, Milk and Cream Chocolate

Pineapple Rum Old Fashioned : Plantation Pineapple Rum, Sugar and Orange Bitters

Both these cocktails were very good, but my fav and one I would definitely have again is the Orinoco Russian mmmmm so good 🙂

Note : Just because this was an invite, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the day.

Firstly a big thanks to DryGate for my invite, I really had a great time and good food and cocktails.
