Asian Fusion Takeaway via FoodHub (Cambuslang, Glasgow): Review

The Delivery

I was recently sent a voucher from FoodHub along with their summer promo, so it was time to use my voucher and order my dinner tonight.

Sesame Prawn Toast

I have not had prawn toast for ages, as I have been good and tried to only order mains recently.

Tonight I decided to be a pig and order anything I wanted.

This just like the previous times i’ve ordered from Asian Fusion is always very nice, the flavour is good and the texture.

Not one slice was left 🙂

My Rating :

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings

Another starter I have not had in ages is chicken wings, and I love a good wing.

I opted for salt and pepper as my main was spicy, so thought I would balance it out and start this way.

These were perfectly cooked, the meat slide of the bone and had a lovely flavour.

Another starter where there was nothing left 🙂

Crispy Spring Rolls (x3)

Wow these were huge!!!

These were nice, but I think something smaller would have been better.

Flavour wise just ok, they needed a nice soya dip to give them a better flavour…but thats a personal thing.

Chicken Crispy Shredded Sweet Chilli

This is my normal dish from a Chinese takeaway, and its been ages since I tried it from Asian Fusion so I thought lets see if its still as good.

This looked good, and smelled really good and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

The chicken was tender, it had a good kick to it, and the flavours as a whole were amazing.

I highly recommend either the chilli or the normal one.

Tonights takeaway was very nice, and just as tasty as I remember. I cant fault any dish tonight, as it was all fresh, tasty and moreish.

Nippon Kitchen (Glasgow) 2021 : Review

The Visit

I have been here many times and always loved the food, atmosphere and always recommended here to many people. I have aimed to come back but then covid hit, so today I did.

Tonight’s visit was a bit of a mixed bag to be honest.

It was a busy night, and we were seated…we ordered our starters and mains and drinks.

After a wee wait our my main arrived and my friends side…..no starter. After our waitress noticed (she was very on the ball and very helpful) another little wait and our starters arrived. We finished our starters, and I sat and waited till my friends main arrived as since I had sushi it was already cold.

A bit of a wait later and we got an apology and my friends main arrived, they were kind enough to remove his main from the bill and explained most of the staff tonight were new….to be honest we didn’t mind as it was a busy night plus if they were new that’s cool we have all been in that position before.

Anyway yes I LOVED my meal and continue to read my thoughts.

Starter

Takoyaki (5 Pieces) £6.00
Octopus and cabbage in a soft batter with ginger and spring onion, with tonkatsu sauce and Japanese mayonnaise

I wanted to order something random and this stood out for me.

I am so glad I did as this is SO SO SO good!!!

The batter had a very slightly crisp to it, and biting in to a very soft and mega tasty inside. The full taste plus the sauce was honestly so moreish!!

I finished this starter with ease and loved every mouthful.

Highly Recommended.

Main Course :

16 Piece Moriawase Sushi £17.50
Cucumber & pickled radish, California maki, fresh salmon, tuna, king prawn, mackerel, tuna mayonnaise and salmon mayonnaise nigiri.

Every time I am here I always have to get this, as its filling and super tasty.

It tasted as good as it looks, and everything was nice and fresh.

I was mega full come the end of this as I hadn’t realised how filling my starter would be.

Highly recommended if you like sushi.

Mocktail : Amai Nojito £4.50
Pressed apple, blueberry, lime, mint, soda

I was the designated driver tonight so a mocktail was needed.

This sounded very nice, so I had to give it a shot.

Presentation was very nice, and the taste was very refreshing…my only comment would be it was 1/2 full of ice as you can see…so a bit more of the juice would have been better.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Overall :

After all the long waits and the mains coming first before starters tonight was a nice evening.

Service wise to be honest it wasn’t great, but they were kind enough enough to remove my friends main from the bill.

Food wise, as always very very nice and very moreish.

If the service was good like it was in the past, it would have been a solid 5/5 but due to that I have to take it to a 3…sorry guys

Lychee Oriental (Glasgow) 2021 : Review

Its been a long time coming, that I had t come back to Lychee as I think it was over a year…so I had to visit and tonight I did that.

Starter :

Vietnamese King Prawn Rolls £6.00

Tonight was all about trying something new for me, and as far as I can remember I have not had this before.

As always presentation here is always perfect, and its all instant eye candy.

I first tried these on their own.

The batter was really nice, it had a nice crisp to it but not too crunchy and the prawn was perfectly cooked.

Now with the soya…mmm just as nice but added that salty flavour we all love.

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Main Course :

Again there were so many options I wanted to try, and I was tempted to order my usual but I opted for this.

Honey Chilli Chicken & Fried Rice £14.50

Normally I go for my normal, but today I opted for the honey version to see how this compared to my normal dish….plus I told Jimmy I would order something different on my next visit so I had to keep my word.

Visually this looked like my normal dish here, but how does the taste compare.

Ohh this does taste different, very nice and the honey is nice and subtle with a little kick.

This was very nice but I think my normal still wins but a very enjoyable dish and highly recommended.

My Rating :

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Overall :

I always love coming back to Lychee Oriental, as its my favourite Chinese restaurant in Glasgow. The staff, service and food are always perfect.
