The Woodside Place Cafe (West End, Glasgow) : Review

GIFTED

It was nice being back in the West End, and tonight I was taking a visit to the Woodside Place Cafe as I was invited to come and get a wee delivery.

Venue

You go downstairs and in to the cafe, which has a really nice sitting area to eat which you can see from the photos.

On your left as you enter is where you can place your order.

This cafe had a really nice atmosphere to it, and looked very nice inside and I felt very relaxed when I was inside.

Vietnamese Caramel Glazed Pork Bun with sweet Potato Fries

Firstly how good does this look? And yes it smelled as good as it looked.

This was a big burger, that was packed with flavour and every bite was just amazing. It was a juicy burger too, so you WILL need some napkins but aren’t all great burgers messy? Yup!

It was very filling and as I said had loads of flavour. ⠀

As you can see from the above photo, you get a good portion of fries.

These were really nice, they had a slight crispness to them and nice flavour…..and worked perfectly with the burger.⠀

Overall :

Note : Just because this was gifted, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the burger and fries.

Firstly a big thanks to the Woodside Place Cafe for the burger.

This was a really nice, full of flavour and very filling burger and the side of sweet potato fries just added to that.

If your in the area or near, give the guys a call and place an order as I am sure you will really enjoy your meal as much as I did.

The Lee Burn (East Kilbride) : Review

V: 14th August 2020

Tonight we visited the Lee Burn as my grandparents wanted to take us out for a meal.

I have been here before but it was ages ago.

The Food

As I said it was ages ago when I was last here, so I couldn’t remember what I had or how good or bad it was.

I recently lost my appetite so I wasn’t too hungry tonight, so I skipped my starter and just went for my main meal.

I didn’t know what to order, so I took a chance on a burger and just randomly selected one.

The Burger

Smothered Chicken Burger £11.99

Golden-fried breaded butter chicken topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, and Brewdog punk IPA BBQ sauce.

Presentation was nice, and I didnt expect as many chips.

The chips were very nice, as I always love skinny fries and they didnt need any salt.

The burger had a really nice flavour, but the cheese seemed to have dried up which was a-shame. It needed some cheese to take away the full crisp bite, or some sauce but overall it was very tasty and filling.

Visit Overall :

Tonight was a nice night with my parents and grandparents.

The atmosphere was good, and we all enjoyed out meals.

It was nice to try somewhere different and also just randomly pick something from the menu.

I had to go back to Dennistoun Bar-B-Que as I LOVED the burger I had on my first visit, so this time I went back with my best friend Chris for some burgers woohoo

The Food…

Side

Seasoned Fries : £2.85 (V)

I had these on my first visit and loved them so I had to get them again this time round.

These were seasoned and had a big kick to them tonight, a lot more than my first visit. Don’t get me wrong they were nice, but for me I preferred the slight kick from my first visit.

This was tonight’s burger of choice as I couldnt get the same as last time.

Carnival Burger £7.85 (added Bacon, Caramelised Onions £2.25, Pickle £1.15)

Now how good does that look, and that’s exactly what I thought when my order was ready.

Was this as good as the first time choice? lets find out…

This was another really good burger, packed with flavour and the burger again so tender.
