Visit & Vibes

Tonight I was going to see a film at Silverburn with friends, and we needed something to eat before the showing….and Nando was our choice.

The Food

Fino Pitta +1 Side £12.75
Indulge in a toasted pitta filled with two flame-grilled chicken thighs, grilled halloumi cheese, caramelised red onion relish, wild garlic aioli, and lettuce.

For me, Nando’s is quick, cheerful, and ok food.

I have been a few times and always just thought it was just ok, but tonight I wanted to try something different and see if my thoughts changed.

On arrival, this looked very nice, and as you can see I got the peri peri chips with it.

After a few pics, it was time to try it.

The chips were nicely cooked and also nicely seasoned, now time for the pita.

I took a bit and tried to get everything, the pita was light and fluffy, the chicken nice and tender but the overall flavour was just ok.

It was a nice dish don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t one that blew me away…as I said for me Nandos is quick and ok food.

Chapter IV (Glasgow Quay) 2022 : Review

About

Chapter IV cuisine is based on a fusion of African cuisine and Caribbean delights. The spices come from the heart of Africa and the isles of the Caribbean coastlines. selected dishes have been prepared to create a sensational deliverance of spices commonly used throughout generations in Africa and the Caribbean islands.

Chapter IV is a Halal restaurant.

The Visit:

The guys at Chapter IV asked me if I would like to pop in and try their food, after finding a date that suited us both I visited.

Chapter IV is where Manjaros is situated at the Glasgow Quay, at present (not sure if it will change) it’s still there so it’s easy to find.

Inside :

Inside it still has the same Manjaros layout, but that’s where it ends. The new decor is very funky and more modern, the atmosphere is much better and the music level was perfect as it was noticeable as background music.

I am not a fan of taking photos while other people are in and eating (unless blogger event) so check out their Instagram etc to see more photos…or even better take a visit 🙂

The Food

The menu looked really good, and I saw a few things that caught my eye.

Starter.

Toasted Nachos: £n/a (normally £4.95)

I spotted Nachos and knew I had to order them.

On arrival, this was a big portion, and looked and smelled really good!

Time to dig in…

These nacho chips were really good! they were a little salty but with the cheese etc it balanced out perfectly!

The salsa was very good, and worked well with the chips…but for me, they didn’t need the salsa they were that good!

I could easily have this again!

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Crispy Chicken Burger £N/A (normally £8.95)

Just like the starter, this was also a very good sided portion, and it comes with chips so you don’t need to order them as a side dish.

I started with the chips, they had a nice crispiness to them and a nice flavour.

The burger was very nice, the chicken had a nice flavour and the bun had a nice flavour to it also.

I then spotted the bottle of Chapter IV’s signature sauce and put some on the chicken burger…..WOW, this added a great flavour! and I have to admit this is the best sauce I have tasted.

I also used the sauce with the chips and mmmm

The sauce on its own was a solid 10/10

My Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Mango Lassi Jug £N/A (normally £7.45)

I spotted they did Mango Lassi and this was another one I had to order!

I went for the jug as tonight I was with my friend and we both felt like a lassi.

This was very nice, and again I could have easily had another jug of this.

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Overall :

Firstly a big thanks to Chapter IV for the invite, I had a fantastic evening and enjoyed all the food I ordered.

I will be adding here to my top spots page.

My Rating :

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Manjaros (Glasgow, Springfield Quay) : Review

V: 15th February 2019

** This review was typed up before lock down! Please check with the restaurant if it is open or doing home delivery, and if they are check them out! **

I have followed Manjaros for a while now on Instagram, and tonight it was time to finally check them out.

Looking Around

Inside is very nice, it has a nice relaxing feel and look. The one thing inside that stood out for me was the lights, they are super funky.

The Food

I have never been here but have seen their photos on their instagram page, so I couldn’t wait to check them out.

Appetiser

Toasted Nachos £3.50

Nachos topped with jalapenos with melted mozzarella cheese and salsa.

I had to have a starter and the Nachos stood out for me.

On arrival this looked very nice, so it was time to dig in.

This was very nice, and a good sized starter lucky I shared this with my fiancee as the main portion was big.

As I said it was a nice starter, but if it was layered better this would have been perfect.

Main Course :

There was so many dishes I wanted to try, so I opted for something completely different to what I would normally order.

Chrispy Chicken Wrap £7.95

Boneless southern fried crispy chicken served with iceberg lettuce and cool mayo.

This looked very tasty on arrival and after the quick picture I dug in.

The wrap was very good, and the flavour was very nice.

The chips were a different story…

So this is a big personal preference, there was nothing wrong with the chips but I 1000% prefer skinny chips….yip am that person but yeah they were nice but skinny chips with this would have been perfect.

There was a sauce on the table that I fell in love with, and it worked AMAZING with this dish.

Visit Overall :

Looking around I saw that all the dishes here were a great portion size, and I have to completely agree with that.

The food here was very good, the only issues were just a personal preference.

I also tried some Chicken Parmesan from my fiancee as it was too big a portion for her and WOW this was really good!!!

And i LOVED!!!! that sauce!!!

I will definitely be going back as I really enjoyed their food.
