I am not really Mr sports in any way, I have done Karate and Tennis in the past and been to a few Ice Hockey games and that’s really it for me.

I have never really had any interest in golf, or even crazy golf but I got a wee invite to come along to Foreplay Crazy Golf and see what it was like.

To be honest I really didn’t know what to expect, but was that a good thing? well keep reading.

First Impressions :

On entering I had a look about, and what I saw looked very interesting.

The guys at the desk welcomed me and explained what would be happening today.

I would be getting one round on one course, and one round on the second course.

The guy who was giving us the golf clubs and balls was very funny and informative at the same time, keep a watch out for this guy he will defo put a smile on your face.

Course One :

Well now this is where it got interesting, I have never held a club or swung a club so I didn’t know what to expect from my game today….lets see what happens.

My girlfriend and I went through this course, sometimes needing more than a few attempts at getting it in the hole but we did manage in the end.

I won this round woohoo

Course Two :

This one looked a lot harder, so I was very excited to start.

Yip, this one was much harder and did require both of us to have a lot more attempts on some, but with the practice from course one some were ok and didnt need as many as we both expected.

This was a very fun course, and I would like to say I won again but nope my girlfriend won this one.

Food & Drink:

There is a bar here and also a food area.

The bar serves alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, and from a board that was on display looked like they did very nice cocktails (unfortunately I was driving so couldn’t have one).

The food are was by The Prague Shack and the food displayed on the menu sounded very good. I had to try the burger here, as I love my burgers.

Beef Burger £7 (today £3.50)

This was a really tasty burger, and one I would recommend as I really enjoyed it.

Cost wise, today for £3.50 (I got it half price) it was very good value…normal price at £7 hmmm a little costly but they have rent to pay etc so its just a hmmm for cost.

  • Taste : 5
  • Presentation : 4
  • Value for Money : 3 (just due to the cost but a very nice burger)

Overall :

WOW ok! I was very surprised how much fun I had today, I really didnt expect to enjoy it as much and so much I want to return with some friends.

This was a fun filled little day out, and its fun for all the family.

The little Glasgow touches on the courses were very cool, and I will come back and have another game or two.

Its been a while since my last visit here, but I was in the area and today I visited and wanted to try something different…..to be honest I felt like pancakes and bacon but that didn’t work out….

On entering I sat down and was given the menu, I didn’t see pancakes and bacon so time to choose something else…

The Food…

I decided to order a few things…

Starter

Buffalo Chicken Wings with Chipotle Sauce (Large) £8.95
Spicy buffalo wings with the choice of hot sauce, Jack Daniels glaze, chipotle BBQ sauces

IMG_0595.jpg

Wow this was a good sized portion, and it smelled amazing.

mmmm every chicken wing was very tender and full of flavour, with just a little kick at the end which was perfect for me.

My only issue was some cleaning cloths would have been good to have, but hey a quick lick of the fingers and kinda clean.

OK so this looked interesting…

OH! MY! GOD!!! this was MEGA AMAZING!!!!! I could easily have had two of these…the flavour of the cheese and the sauce and the chips was 1000% perfect!!

TriBeCa’s famous Snow Blizzards, 12 years and going strong. A thick ice cream shake with whipped cream and a few special ingredients that add the extra ahhh…factor

This was a random one for me but it sounded good.

Wow firstly this was a really nice taste and secondly it was thick, I was loving this and it could technically be a meal on its own as it was very filling.

Swadish (Merchant City, Glasgow) : Review

Swadish

V: 26th September 2019

I got a wee ping in my Instagram inbox from Ajay, inviting me to come to Swadish for dinner. Ajay is the owner and Chef of Swadish, which is new to Merchant City (since around end of May).

I accepted and set a date in my calender.

Swadish has been on my ever growing hit list to visit, so this was really good and I started to have a wee snoop at the menu before going.

Swadish is situated where Ad Lib used to be, if that doesnt ring any bells look at the top of this review to see the address and have a nosy on Google Maps.

Looking Around

On entering I could see the changes to the decor from its previous owner (Ad Lib), it looked a lot more fresh, modern, warm and relaxing. This was much better, and more visually appealing!!

We were shown to our table, and had a look at the menu and about Swadish.

A little palate cleanser was given to us, while we had a look at the menu.

This was very refreshing and a nice little idea….after a few mins we got some nibbles while we decided what to order.

Yup I know what you are thinking, whats the while ball thing at the top….yip that was also my thoughts. I cant remember its name, but the closest way to describe it is like balled prawn crackers but without the prawn flavour.

All the dips were home made, and these own their own or with dips were very nice.

The Food

I planned only to have two courses tonight, and to be honest I really couldn’t decided as there was at least 4 starters I liked the sound of and probably the same amount for the mains.

Ajay told me that all the ingredients are all locally sourced, but cooked the traditional Indian way. I loved this concept, and couldn’t wait to start eating.

Appetiser

Sesame Fish Fried : £N/A tonight (Normally £5.50)

Scottish Haddock, Sesame Sees, Pickled Cucumber, Onion, Roasted Tomato & Avocado Salsa

I decided to order this since it said Scottish Haddock, and see how the fusion of Scottish ingredients with the Indian cooking was.

I was expecting something that tasted like fish fingers, but I was so wrong.

These were very nice, the flavour of the fish was subtle and the batter just crispy which made the perfect mouthful.

Crispy Alloo Nest Chaat : £N/A tonight (Normally £4.50)

Potato Rosati Nest, White Pea Mash, Tamarind and Sweet Yogurt.

I was told tonight that this is one of the most popular dishes, and I can see and taste why.

Visually this was really nice, and the taste WOW getting everything so you have the perfect bite gave you a perfect bite.

I could have easily had two of these.

Main Course :

Again there were so many options I wanted to try, but I decided to pick something random.

Lamb Shank Rogan Josh : £N/A tonight (Normally £14)

Tender Scottish Lamb Shank Braised in Bone Marrow, Cinnamon, Fennel Seeds, Cloves for 8 hours for delicate flavours and mouth melting texture, Crispy Straw Potatoes.

Wow this was a big portion, and the smell was amazing…time to dig in.

Sauce flavours were very very nice, and the lamb! wow now this was cooked to perfection. The lamb meat just slide off the bone, leaving it clean! perfect!!

Sides :

Truffle Kulcha with Wild Mushroom : £N/A tonight (Normally £4.95)

So I am not a super fan of mushrooms, but that doesn’t stop me for trying food that has them in it.

This was really nice naan, the mushrooms added a nice flavour and there was a slight after taste of garlic.

I am glad I tried something different, as I would order this again with maybe a curry.

Mango Peshwari Naan : £N/A tonight (normally £4.25)

So I love ordering Peshwari Naan, and recently got one that was not good!!! So when I came here I had to see how Swadish did them.

I like the naan to be soft and very sweet, and this was very nice….I was happy to have a good Peshwari Naan 🙂

Desert :

So you will have read at the start I said I wasn’t going to have anything else, but Ajay was kind enough to make me some Kulfi.

Saffron and Pistachio Kulfi : £N/A tonight (Normally £7.00)

Traditional Indian Custard-based and creamier Ice Cream, Vanilla Sponge. Pistachio Crumbs, Dehydrated Raspberries, Quinoa Brittle.

I am not a nuts person, so I only had a little of this but I was helped to finish this as I came here with my girlfriend.

The little I did taste was very nice, creamy, very tasty.

Thanks Ajay, and sorry I only took a little….I cant take nuts.

Visit Overall :

Note : Just because this was an invite, that has not influenced my thoughts in any way. The above is a 100% honest review of the day, and the food.

Firstly thank you Ajay and the staff at Swadish, I had a fantastic evening and really nice food.

Guys if you like Scottish food and Indian food, you need to take a visit to Swadish I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

I enjoyed my food tonight so much, Swadish is being added to my Top Spots page.

Thanks again and I will be back again soon.
