Swadish (Glasgow) : Review

V: 14th December 2019

I visited Swadish not long after it opened, as Ajay the owner and chef sent me an invite. That night was really good, as I loved everything I ordered and said I would be back.

I always keep my word if I say I will be back, sometimes it may be sooner than expected and sometimes longer due to my busy schedule.

Tonight I went back with my best friend Chris, and we both had an amazing night.

Here is what I had and thought.

The Food

Ajay said when I return I should try the fish, so tonight I had to try a fish dish.

I went in only wanting to have one dish, but when I looked at the starters I had to try something…so my one dish became two.

Starter

Sweet Potato Chaat £5.50 (Vegan)
Spinach, Fritter, Pomegranate, Coriander, Tamarind, Sweet Yoghurt, Pomegranate Reduction.

I wanted to try a few starters but after thinking what one to select, I left to a quick random selection.

This was a really good starter for me, as it was very light, nice flavours and didn’t leave me too full which meant I had space for my main.

All the ingredients worked perfectly together.

Punjabi Spiced Salmon £15.00

Wow this was a big portion, and the smell was amazing…time to dig in.

The salmon was cooked perfectly and worked with the sauces and Masala potatoes! everything on the plate and every mouthful was perfect.

Desert :

Ajay came out and we had a wee chat, and it was nice to see him and have a chat again. He offered us a wee desert on the house, and you know me for my sweet tooth I couldn’t say no.

Melt In Love (tonight free thanks to Ajay, normally £7.50)
Ginger Chocolate Sphere with Chocolate Brownie, White Chocolate Mousse, Caramel Hazelnut Crumbs. Hot Caramel Sauce, Dehydrated Raspberries.

Firstly when this arrived this looked very nice, then when the sauce got poured over it oh it was another treat for the eyes. (will be shown in the vlog)

This was very sweet but so so good, the chocolate with the mousse and the caramel sauce oh so so good!!! this just like the other dishes was perfect! full of flavour, and all the ingredients worked amazing together.

This was heaven for me and my sweet tooth.

Just like my first time this was a flawless visit, service, staff, and the food!

The review, photos and Vlog don’t do this justice, you have to visit here as its perfection!

Swadish is my new favourite Indian restaurant.

V: 1st August 2019. T: 0141 424 1879. W: www.kebabishgrill.co.uk

Hey guys so after the great re-launch party for Kebabish Grill (see my post here) I had to go back, but I didn’t book or call ahead I just went and hoped I could get a table.

Lucky when I arrived there were a few left, so I was shown to my seat and guess what it was the same table and same seat as last time.

I wanted to see how the food was when it wasn’t an invite, I always try and do that with everywhere I get invited to that way I know how the food really is.

The Food…

I decided I was having at least two courses and one of my fav drinks a Mango Lussi, so it was time to order and see how the food was tonight.

Starter

Mixed Pakora £6.95

How good does this look, and it smelled very nice.

Each type of Pakora was very nice and this was a BIG portion, I enjoyed every mouthful and everything was cooked perfectly.

Main Course

Butter Chicken £11.95
succulent pieces of chicken cooked in Kebabish traditional creamy sauce.

I have had butter chicken at other restaurants before, so I had to try it here.

Visually if I compare the other butter chicken had a more yellow sauce, where this was more orange in colour….now it was time to dig in.

Ohhh now this had a really nice flavour, very different to the others I have had but mmmm yeah really nice. The chicken pieces where very tender, and the combination of rice, sauce and chicken was perfect.

I will definitely be having this again, but next visit I will try something else.

I forgot to take down the cost of the rice sorry, bad blogger I know

Drink

Mango Lussi (Jug) £7.95

Tonight I came with my best friend Chris, and he is also a Mango Lussi fan so we decided to go for the jug.

This was very nice, smooth and had a nice mango flavour…..to be honest I could have probably had the whole jug to myself as I really like Mango Lussi 🙂

Overall

Tonight I came back and was not disappointed, the food was just as nice as the launch event.

I even tried some from my friends plate and his was also packed with flavour, so I am definable coming back for more.

Guys I am highly recommending Kebabish Grill, please do check it out!

Tonight I wanted to take another place off my list, and try somewhere new and here is where I chose.

I have passed here a few times when taking a walk around this area…now it was time to go in.

Looking Around

IMG_7707

Inside has a very cool look, and vibe to it. Tonight was very busy, so it was a little loud with everyone talking over everyone, but I sat over at the window and enjoyed people watching.

The Food…

I really wanted to try something other than a burger and here I spotted did hot dogs, so I looked for one that sounded really good and ordered it.

Main

Jamaican Hot Dog £7.95
Slow cooked pulled pork, bbq sauce, house slaw & Mango Mayo

IMG_7712

As soon as it arrived this looked and smelled really good, so it was time to dig in…but where do I start?

I resorted to using a knife and fork, and ohhh this was very good every bite of the hot dog was very very good.

The chips were just ok, needed some salt but thats my opinion.
