Kitchen Punjab Platter (Glasgow & East Kilbride) : Review

GIFTED

I was sitting having a look at different profiles on Instagram last week, and I spotted Kitchen Punjabs account and the food and cost caught my eye so I started following.

On Saturday 20th the guys sent me a message, to see if I would like to try one of their platters.

About

Fresh & Home-made Punjabi food from our kitchen to yours, cooked fresh on the day. Free Delivery in Glasgow/EK, 6-8pm and orders Wed & Sat only. Wednesday is the Vegan night.

Kitchen Punjab is fairly new about just over a month old at the time of posting this, and I got talking to them and learned that everything is home made, made with love and you can really taste this.

Heat & Eat Platter

The guys sent me the Heat and Eat Platter which consisted of :

  • Tadka Chawaal (Fried Rice)
  • Makhini Chicken Curry (butter chicken)
  • Chapli Kebab
  • Roti
  • Chicken Pakora
  • Raita
  • Salad

The normal cost for this is £20 with free Glasgow and East Kilbride delivery…..how good is that!!! and its can feed two people or one very hungry person.

You get a lovely little message with the platter, which also includes heating instructions. This part doesn’t take long, so if your very hungry dont worry you wont wait long to eat.

My Starter

So I got out all the starter items, and platted it up.

I started with chicken pakora.

The chicken pakora batter was not too crispy but not soft, just a nice amount of crunch. The chicken was nice and tender, and overall a really good flavour! I could have easily had more of these.

Next the Chapli Kebab.

I think this is the first time having this, so I was looking forward to how it tasted.

This was very nice, it was packed with a lovely flavour and I enjoyed every mouthful.

my Main Course :

  • Tadka Chawaal (Fried Rice)
  • Makhini Chicken Curry (butter chicken)
  • Roti

I started with the rice and it was cooked perfectly, and I think I could taste cinnamon through the rice which added such a lovely flavour.

The roti was nicely cooked, and tasted good.

The curry wow! flavour wise really good, worked amazingly with the rice mega moreish. For me it had a big kick, but that didn’t stop me finishing it.

Firstly a big thanks to the guys at Kitchen Punjab for making my Saturday night better 🙂

The food from arrival, easy to heat, and the flavours I loved from start to end.

As I said these guys are pretty new on the scene, but going by the quality and flavours of the food you wouldn’t know it.

Follow them on Instagram, and check out their food platter deals. Saturday nights are normal platters, and Wednesday nights are for Vegans.

German Donner Kebab Boss Box (Glasgow) : Review

GIFTED

Last week the guys over at German Doner Kebab (Glasgow), sent me over their Boss Box to try before the main launch.

I had seen them do some promo for this and I was very intrigued so I said yes and arranged the delivery.

I ordered this via Deliveroo app on my iPhone, but the app is also available on the android store.

GDK Boss Box

WOOHOO, the long-awaited BOSS BOX is out NOW. ⁣⠀

The Boss Box Options – A choice of original German Doner Kebab, KCal Kebab, Durum or Lahmacun Wrap served with Doner Spring Rolls OR Chilli Cheese Bites, a side of fries, signature sauces and beverage. ⁣⠀

The guys over at German Doner Kebab GBK were kind enough to gift me this meal the day before the Boss Box launch day.

I couldn’t wait to get it as GDK get a great name for their kebabs, and I was planning on visiting their for the first time then lockdown happened.

My fiancee and I were mega hungry, so we paid for an extra box.⠀

My Box

When ordering this box via Deliveroo, you get to customise it to your liking.

As you can see from the above photo, everything has a specific compartment in the box which is really nice.

For me I chose the following options :

  • Original German Doner Kebab (Mix contents, melted cheese sauce)⠀
  • Chicken Doner Roll⁣⠀
  • Curry Fries⁣⠀
  • Folkington Mango Juice⠀

Order placed, and waited for it to arrive.

The Food

I started with the spring rolls, and they had the perfect crunch and taste for me. I then tried them with the dips, and again they worked perfect with them.

The Original German Doner Kebab was soo good! every bite for me was really good!. I would definitely have this again.

The fries I ordered curry fries, which basically were normal fries with a curry powder dusted over them….for me this was a little bit of a disappointment. I don’t know what I expected but these were just ok.

Firstly a big thanks to the guys at GDK for gifting me the boss box, and compliments to the chefs.

I really enjoyed this from start to finish, and its really good value for money. I was so happy to see that everything was packed so well! The worst thing is when you receive your order and find your food has spilled all over the place… not the case here! nice one guys!!!

I will be ordering this again, and trying a few other dishes from them either at home or when lockdown end.

Guys check it out and let me know what you think.

Pots & Co My 4 Pots : Review

Gifted

The guys over at Pots & Co sent me some of their pots to try, and hold a competition to win these sweet treats.

First things first was my top priority to try them and see what they were like.

In the past I have purchased a few pots from my local supermarket, and loved them so when they contacted me I knew heaven would be arriving at my door 🙂

The Pots

They sent me the following :

  • Salted Caramel & Chocolate Ganache x 2
  • Lemon & Lime Posset x 2
  • Chocolate & Hazelnut Praline x 2
  • Hot Chocolate & Salted Caramel Lava Cake x 2⁣

What a selection and all sounded very yummy!!!! so I couldn’t wait to dig in as soon as they arrived.

The Pots

I could have easily just had them all the day they arrived, as I have a mega sweet tooth but I decided to be good and have one a day.

Pots & Co : Salted Caramel & Chocolate Ganache

I decided to start with the Salted Caramel pot, as it sounded the sweetest from my selection.

OH! MY! GOD! I felt like I had died and gone to heaven with this one, every mouthful was just so smooth, sweet and so mmmmmm I was actually mega disappointed when I saw the bottom of the pot.

  • Flavour : 5

Pots & Co : Lemon & Lime Posset

Deciding what pot was next was a VERY tough choice but someone had to do it, and my next choice was the Lemon pot.

Just like the Salted Caramel pot, this was very smooth and had a perfect lemon flavour to it. For me most lemon desserts can either not have enough flavour, or way overpowering but for me this was the perfect balance in flavour.

  • Flavour : 5

Pots & Co : Chocolate & Hazelnut Praline

I am not a nuts person, so I only tried a little of this so my fiancee was the one that told me how it was.

She said it was very nice, and the chocolate and hazelnut created the perfect smooth and crunchy texture in her mouth.

Pots & Co : Hot Chocolate & Salted Caramel Lava Cake

Did I save the best till last?

I popped this into the oven and waited patiently on it getting warmer……then it was time to try.

I can understand why this is best served hot, the warm salted caramel was so mmmm

This for me was my second favourite after the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Ganache

Overall :

Firstly a big thank you to Pots & Co for my sweet treats, and for allowing me to run a competition for them.

I enjoyed every sweet treat, and have even gone out and got some more as they are really really good.

My 1000% favourite was the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Ganache!!!

Please do check them out if you see them in your local supermarket, or online as if you have a sweet tooth like me you will have died and gone to heaven with these sweet pots 🙂
