On my way home, I noticed that my booked ferry had been delayed. Worried it might happen again or even be cancelled, I decided to plan an alternative route.

I am so glad I did, as I wouldn’t have found this hidden gem otherwise!

Upon entering, I noticed the place was quite small but had a very cozy, charming feel. As I sat down, I immediately felt relaxed and was so happy to have found it. The menu looked and sounded great, and the small lunch I ordered was absolutely amazing!

Ardtornish venison & Italian Herb Sausage Rolls £4.50

When I entered, I noticed the menu on the wall and a few items caught my eye. However, once I reached the counter to order, I spotted the Ardtornish venison and Italian herb sausage rolls and knew I had to try one. I now wish I’d bought two, but at the time, I was only looking for a light lunch.

When I sat down, the aroma hit me instantly, it smelled incredible! I cut a slice, and the flavour was honestly superb.

This easily beats any sausage roll I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried many! It was perfectly cooked, allowing you to taste every individual element; the combination of the venison and the Italian herbs was outstanding.

I highly recommend trying this if you’re in the area or don’t mind a wee drive!

Chocolate Chip Cookie

While I was ordering my sausage roll at the counter, I spotted their cookies and couldn’t resist getting one as well.

The cookie was a generous size and looked delicious.

When I finally took a bite, I was impressed by how soft it was and how many chocolate chips were packed inside, it was incredible! It was easily one of the best cookies I’ve had in a long time and served as the perfect end to my lunch.

Final Thoughts…

Overall, I am so happy that I decided to take a different route home. If I hadn’t found this place by chance on the map, I would have missed out on an amazing lunch.

I honestly can’t wait to go back for another sausage roll and to try something else from the menu. I enjoyed the food so much that I am adding this spot to my list of top restaurants. It is a must-visit if you are in the area or out for a wee drive!
