NEW Berlin Strasse and Doner Panini at German Doner Kebab (Glasgow) 2022 : Review

GIFTED

The Visit

The guys over at German Doner Kebab sent me a wee ping to invite me to try the new Berlin Strasse and the Doner Panini.

I have had a few gifted items before and loved them, I have also visited GDK a few times and always had a good experience so I took them up on the offer and took a wee visit.

I was doing a click and collect, so the photos are ok, but due to the drive home they got a little squashed so do ignore that.

The Berlin Strasse

‘Your choice of Doner meats, tomatoes, onions and fries, wrapped in a Lahmacun with spiced minced beef, lemon and parsley’ Served with our yogurt signature sauce

This was a good-sized meal, and I couldn’t wait to unwrap it.

I cut it down the middle to make it easier to hold and it instantly reminded me of a Gyros but with doner meat.

I took a good bite and ohh this was nice, I could taste the meats and the chips and it all worked very well together.

This is a meal in itself, and I didn’t have any fries or drink with this…it was very very filling.

The flavours of this were really nice, but I did feel the chips masked a little of the amazing meats and mayo flavours.

Doner Panini

Your choice of Doner meats, our signature garlic and yogurt sauces, shredded cheese, tomato and onion. Served toasted in our new Sourdough panini bread.

The other new item on the menu was the Doner Panini and I do have a thing for Panini so I couldn’t wait to take a big bite of this.

On opening this the smell was so good, my mouth instantly started to water.

I took a big bite and WOW!!!! now, this was an instant hit!

The flavours of the panini, meats and mayo etc all worked perfectly and the flavour was so so good! I could have easily had this again that’s how tasty it was.

I finished this very easy and will be ordering this at my next GDK visit.

I highly recommend this and if you do check it out let me know what you think.

Overall

Firstly a big thanks to German Doner Kebab for letting me try their two new menu items.

For me the winner was the panini it just had so much more flavour, but don’t get me wrong both were really nice but the Doner Panini was hands down my fav and one I will be ordering again.

Prezzo (Breahead, Glasgow) 2022 : Review

The Visit

Tonight my gran wanted to visit Breahead and fancied eating in Prezzo.

I have not been to Prezzo in ages so I was looking forward to trying the dishes again.

The Burger

Grilled Chicken Burger £12.95
grilled chicken breast with crispy prosciutto, cheddar, red onion, garlic mayo, fresh tomato, lettuce, served with house fries and a garlic mayo dip.

I have had a few burgers lately, and I didn’t feel like anything else so I opted for the grilled chicken burger as it sounded nice.

On arrival this looked big and ok, I did notice the red onion was HUGE and needed cut up more but it was time to taste.

I am glad it had the mayo on the burger as if it didn’t it would have been very dry, flavour wise it was nice but nothing jumped out at me.

The chips on the other hand were amazing! they had a great crispness to them and tasted great on their own and with the dip.

Lucky Saint Beer (0.5% ABV) £4.25

Since I was driving tonight, I opted for a non alcoholic beer to go with my meal.

Its been ages since I have had a non alcoholic beer, so it was time to try another.

This was very nice, and very refreshing.

It was light, had a good taste and did actually taste like beer which some don’t.

I really liked this beer and would have it again.

Visit Overall

Tonight’s visit was nice, as it was nice to spend time with my gran and have a nice meal.

Burger wise it was just ok, a little too dry for my taste and not much flavour….the chips were the winner here.

La Fiorentina Ristorante (Glasgow) 2022 : Review

The Visit

I visited not that long ago but that visit was to be a judge, I spoke to the guys here and said I would be back and I always keep my word.

Today I was at Falkirk doing a charity event, and I felt like pizza so I decided to pop back and visit.

The Food

FOCACCIA AL ROSMARINO (v) £5.50
Baked focaccia bread with sea salt, rosemary and extra virgin olive oil.

I remember trying this on my last visit here and had to have it again.

WOW, this time it was a massive portion! it’s probably a good sharing one or if you are a very hungry person.

I took a bite and mmm great texture, and a perfect balance of salt and rosemary mmm so good!

I loved every bite!

4 Formaggi £13.50
White piazza topped with buffalo mozzarella, cheddar, gorgonzola and parmesan cheese

When I visited Italy I always had a few of these and loved them, so when I spotted they did them here I had to go for this and see how it was here.

On arrival, this looked and smelled amazing and I couldn’t wait to dig right in.

Ohhh this was soo good! the base was nice and thin and the flavours of all the cheese mmm it took me right back to being in Italy.

I finished this and loved it and will be getting it again on my next visit.

Visit Overall

Tonight’s visit was really good, the service and the food were just the same as before.

My favourite was the pizza as it took me right back to sitting in Italy watching the people walk by while I enjoy the pizza.

I will be adding here to my Top Restaurants page, soo do check them out.
