Todays Visit

I decided to make another visit and try something different to what I had ages ago.

The Food

I wasn’t mega hungry but I knew I could at least eat one course, so I opted for the main and a chicken burger.

Smothered Chicken Burger £11.79
Golden-fried buttermilk chicken goujons topped with streaky bacon, Cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce (1,156kcal with bun, 958kcal without bun)

On arrival this looked good, and smelled ok.

I took a bite of the chips and they were nice, no salt needed for me…and they were skinny fries which is always a win for me.

I then took a bit of the burger and it was so so, if it didn’t have the BBQ sauce there really wasn’t much flavour just more texture.

I did finish this but wow very very low in flavour for me as it should have been much nicer.

Sorry guys.

Visit Overall

Today felt just like the last, service and staff were good but the food just not that tasty.

I know its basically pub grub, but I have had better and more flavourful eats in other places similar style to here.

Sorry guys.

Charcoals (Glasgow) 2022 : Review

Todays Visit

The last visit to Charcoals I was acting as a judge, this was a hard task for me as I have known Muhammad for a long time, but I put my judge cap on and did the judging fairly.

I wanted to return after the results whatever they were as I do like a wee Charcoals visit.

Today I brought a new friend to check out Charcoals as we had both been at the gym and worked up a good appetite.

The Food

I wanted either a curry or a biriyani. I don’t know why they were what I felt like but it’s the only two dishes that popped into my mind.

Lamb Chops Tandoori
Tender Chops cooked over Charcoal.

While waiting for my main Muhammad was kind enough to bring us a wee extra dish and it was these Lamb Chops.

I have had these here before and wow very very good.

I took a bite and mmm the flavour exploded in my mouth, the lamb was very tender and it was an amazing bite….well every bite! it was so good!

If you visit Charcoals you need to check these out of your a lamb fan and let me know what you think.

Chicken Biryani £14.95
A popular Mixed Rice Dish with Chicken.

I have been out with a friend a lot this year and she has always felt like grabbing a biriyani, and I think that’s why I am now fancying these more and more recently.

I spotted Charcoals did them so I had to order one.

On arrival, this was a MASSIVE portion! and after the lovely lamb chops, I knew I would be up for a challenge to finish this…if I didn’t I would take it home for the next day.

Everywhere I have had this dish they do it their own way, and serve a curry sauce or a raita sauce on the side.

This was packed with flavour, it was very tasty and very nice, adding the side sauce was also very nice but did take away some of the amazing flavours from the biriyani.

I love a biriyani with both the curry sauce or Raita, but on its own it’s such a great dish.

I really liked it tonight and would easily have it again here.

Have you tried it here? what were your thoughts?

It was nice to be back again and try a new dish here for me.

I left feeling very full, but I enjoyed the meal very much and the lamb chops stole the show tonight for me.

Bread Meats Bread (Glasgow Fort) 2022 : Review

Todays Visit

I took a wee drive to the Fort as it was a nice sunny day, as its a nice place to come for a walk, shops and some food.

I have not been to a Bread Meets Bread for a while, but always loved them and thought it was time to pop in again.

The Food

The last visit I had the luther Burger, and wanted to try something different…well that failed….kinda

I spotted a Chicken Luther burger and had to try that.

Chicken Luther Burger £11.50
Two caramelised glazed ringed doughnuts toasted and filed with a buttermilk fried chicken, topped with American cheese, candied bacon , gochujang mayonnaise and crispy onions.

So much for the diet lol

This looked good, smelled good and I am sure it will take just as good as the normal Luther Burger…well lets find out.

I took a bite and mmm this was an instant mmm so so good.

I loved how you had the sweetness to this, yet all the lovely chicken and cheese flavours and just an overall so so good….can you tell I liked it? lol

My only issue was the doughnuts didn’t hold well during the course of eating it, and started to break so I eventually had to use a knife and fork but that’s just a minor thing.

I could easily had another.
