Sam’s Italian Restaurant (Clydebank) 2022 : Review

The Visit

The guys at Sam’s invited me to come and check them out, they are a new Italian restaurant in Clydebank.

I love Italian food so I couldn’t wait to say yes and set a date.

Inside

Clydebank is not an area I end to visit a lot, so I didn’t know what to expect on arrival.

On entering this place looked very very nice, you had tables, booths and it was very modern but cosy decor.

The Food

I spotted on their Instagram that many people were doing the Mozzarella sticks for the cheese pulls, so I wanted to do something different to show off other dishes.

Arancini
Italian rice, mushrooms and mozzarella balls in breadcrumbs with a spicy tomato sauce

This dish stood out for me on the menu, so I had to order it.

On arrival this visually looked very very good, I loved its presentation. It also smelled very nice, and I couldn’t wait to see how it was.

I cut this open and took a bite without the sauce, mmm the coating had a nice crispness to it and the inside a great flavour. I then tried it with the dip and wow, this had a nice kick but nothing too strong and really complimented the flavours.

Torta Di Pesce
Homemade fish cakes with tartare sauce

I only review the dishes I eat, but my friend ordered this and I tried a little so I thought I would also add this to my review.

Visually again the presentation was excellent, I couldn’t fault it.

As I said I tried a little, I tried it without the sauce and again this was packed with flavour and one of the nicest fish cakes I have tasted!

I then tried the sauce, and it was one of the nicest tarter sauces I have tried, it was subtle and really complimented the fish cakes.

Highly recommended and a dish I will order next visit.

Festa Della Carne Pizza
Fior di latte mozzarella, meatballs, Italian sausage, pepperoni and chicken

I couldn’t go to an Italian and not have pasta or pizza, and tonight I opted for pizza.

I couldn’t go to an Italian and not have pasta or pizza, and tonight I opted for pizza.

As soon as this arrived this looked and smelled amazing! after a few pics, I jumped right in.

I took a big bite and ohh all the flavours were so good, the meatballs had a lovely texture and seasoning, the sausage was a great flavour and the chicken was very tender.

This pizza was one of the best I have had in a long time!

Tiramisu
Italian sponge fingers soaked in coffee liqueur topped with whipped cream and cocoa

After an amazing starter and main, we had very little space left, but we decided to go halfers on dessert so we could try one more dish.

I love a good Tiramisu, and it’s always hit or miss any time I try one. Some it’s just cream and 1% coffee flavour and the other times it’s really good.

Visually again just like every dish tonight’s presentation was excellent! this looked so good, but I couldn’t wait to taste it and see how it was.

This was a really good one! it was creamy, had a nice coffee flavour and mmm the perfect end to a great night.

Visit Overall

Firstly a big thanks to the guys at Sam’s for a lovely meal and the invite.

Just like normal the above review was not influenced in any way, just because it was an invite.

I cant fault any part of tonight’s visit, from food to service. I am happily adding here to my top spots page and I will visit again so keep watching for my next review.
