Todays Visit

I had done a wee random drive with a friend to see a castle and it was time to decide where to go for dinner, we decided to try the town so drove back to Glasgow and just thought lets try a few places and see if any have any availability.

After trying a few I spotted here, and remembered seeing their name when I was at the Italian Food Awards so I had to check them out.

The Food

If you don’t know me by now I love Italian food, and have visited Italy many many many times, so I couldn’t wait to see how the food was here.

Focaccia Rosmarino £6.95
Focaccia bread with rosemary and sea salt

On arrival this visually looked very nice, and I couldn’t wait to dig in as I was very hungry.

I took a bite and the focaccia bread was very nice and had a lovely texture, the taste though was just so so.

I couldn’t taste any of that lovely sea salt that should go so well with the rosemary….

Overall this was just ok, but I did miss the salt part to this which I have had in many other Italian restaurants.

Spaghetti Carbonara £11.95
Spaghetti served with a sauce of eggs, cream, bacon and parmesan cheese.

I really felt like a Carbonara tonight and even though I saw the description of the dish I still ordered it.

On arrival this did look nice, but for me an Italian restaurant should do this dish with no cream, never bacon! only pancetta or guanciale…or even have the two option on the menu.

Judging the dish as it is, it was nice and the spaghetti was cooked nice, the flavour was ok, hint of flavour from the bacon…it was just ok.

I am sure if your a spaghetti carbonara with cream lover then you would love this dish, but it was just so so flavour wise for me as I missed the pancetta flavours.

After eating all that we decided to checkout the dessert menu.

I will start by saying the lady that served us was very nice and very pleasant, but the gentleman who asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu on return basically tossed the menu on the table rather than placing it or handing it to use.

This really put me off and my friend so we just asked for the bill and left.
