The Visit
Recently, I revisited Bella Vita in Moss Park for a pre-birthday dinner.
My parents treated me to this occasion. Unfortunately, they were closed on my actual birthday, which fell on Monday, but luckily they were open on the preceding Sunday, so we made a reservation for that day.
Upon arrival, the restaurant was bustling with activity, exuding a great vibe and atmosphere. It was wonderful to reunite with the staff and owner, and we exchanged pleasantries. This time, I found myself indecisive about what to order, contemplating trying something new or opting for a combination of familiar and new dishes.

The Food
Once again, the staff here went above and beyond, serving us several dishes before we even had the chance to order our starters. What you see here is a medley of items available from the starters menu.
For instance, there’s mozzarella cheese, fried chicken bites in cornflakes, and haggis arancini.
Additionally, they presented us with a delightful half-half focaccia. I particularly enjoy the saltiness of focaccia; it’s truly delicious. This one featured cheese with chilli flakes on one side and lovely tomatoes on the other.
As depicted in the photos, this spread was a feast in itself. Consequently, I opted to forgo ordering a starter, as this spread was substantial enough, and delved straight into my main course.
The Food
Calzone Prosciutto £11.50

For my main course, I decided on the calzone, but with the addition of some pepperoni.
As you can see, upon arrival, this dish was enormous, emitting a delightful aroma that only intensified once I made the first cut.
The fragrance was truly amazing. This calzone was exceptionally tasty. The flavours were rich and satisfying, and the extra addition of pepperoni provided a delightful kick.
It remained delicious from the first bite to the last. However, despite my best efforts, I couldn’t manage to finish it all that night. I left at least a third, which I happily took home and enjoyed for lunch the following day, as it was packed with flavour and very filling, especially considering the delightful starters we had.
Overall, this calzone was fantastic, and if you’re a fan of calzones, I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s a dish I would gladly have again, perhaps with a slightly smaller starter next time.

Chocolate Ice-cream
Initially, I had no intention of indulging in dessert, as I could barely move and dreaded the thought of standing up and walking to the car due to feeling so full from all the food.
However, I ultimately decided to treat myself to some chocolate ice cream.
Upon its arrival, as depicted, the presentation was delightful, and the flavour of the chocolate was truly exceptional.
Moving on, I’ve always considered Italian ice cream to be superior due to its unparalleled flavour and consistency. Opting for the chocolate ice cream was a satisfying way to conclude the evening, and I’m pleased with my decision. I would readily order the chocolate ice cream again without hesitation.

Final Thoughts…
First and foremost, I want to express my immense gratitude to the owner for treating us to that incredible spread of food, or rather, I should say, that feast of food, before we even delved into our main courses and desserts. It was truly amazing. The focaccia was delightful, and the meats were exquisite.
To be completely honest with you, everything I’ve ever tasted at this restaurant has been exceptionally delicious. So, a heartfelt thank you to the owner and the team for such a wonderful experience, and it was truly delightful to see you all again.
Switching gears to tonight’s meal, as I mentioned earlier, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it, and I left feeling incredibly full yet immensely satisfied.
