Yip another visit, and I couldn’t wait as I needed another Charcoals fix.

For me this is my all time favourite Indian restaurant, every visit the service is 10/10 and also the food is bursting with flavour and amazingly tasty.

The Food…

Starter

Chai Tea

IMG_4725

Not really a starter but I did order it when I went in, rather than my normal cola as I wanted to give this tea a shot.

Meat Samosa £3.25
Lamb minced and spices rolled in a pastry

Well there would be a photo here but I was hungry and guess what? I forgot to take it (sorry)

Anyway……I would normally go for the vegetable samosa, but today I thought lets try the meat one. Lamb for me is hit and miss, some dishes i like it, some I don’t but I wanted to be different today.

This was so so good, and it was that good I visited here 3 days later for my works night out and had this again.

Main Course

Charcoals Goldie £9.95 & Peshwari Naan £3.50
7 Lentils cooked together in chefs special spices, chicken or lamb.

This is my all time favourite naan, I love the flavour and it works well with nearly every dish.

I had this dish ages ago and thought lets have it again, as I remember I really liked it so hopefully it was the same today.

This was a little spicy but just a little kick nothing major, and wow the flavours were amazing. Its very hard to describe, but all I can say is mmmmm and this with the naan worked very well.

Finally after many months on my list I visited Balbir’s Indian Restaurant.

I had heard from a few people here was very good, and the food was mega tasty so I had to see what it was like.

On entering tonight it was a busy busy night and we were told they were fully booked, but there was one table that was a maybe for us. The reason it was a maybe was a famous snooker player was late, and they didn’t know if they should allow it to be rebooked or not.

Lucky for us they allowed it to be rebooked.

The Food…

Spicy Calamari (1/2 Hot) £5.50
Squid coated red chilli, with sharp tamarind dip

IMG_4671

For me this is one dish that either will be good, or too chewy but when its good its very good so I thought I would see what it was like here plus the spicy part sounded interesting.

For me this was perfect, the Calamari was not chewy and very tasty. The spice part to this dish was not over powering.

Malai Korma £10.90
A mild curry, cooked in onion gravy with cream

I love Korma so when I go to any Indian restaurant for a first time this is one dish I always have, some places are meh and some are mmm

The Korma here was nice, very creamy but it was lacking a little more coconut taste for me as thats what I am kinda used to when I get a Korma.

Overall it was a really nice flavour, and a good portion size but maybe just a little bit too costly for Korma….and needed a little more coconut flavour to but thats a personal taste.

Overall my first time here was very good, it was very very busy tonight which is great for the business.

The food was very tasty and not lacking in flavour, the service and staff were all very good.

Looking forward to my next visit.

Back again at one of my favourite Indian Restaurants in Glasgow, and this time I would have something other than my normal dishes.

As always I was welcomed and shown to my table, which today was closer to the window so I had a nice view.

Yes I did stick to ordering something different so here is what I thought.

The Food…

Starter

Vegetable Samonsa £2.95
Vegetables and spices rolled in a pastry.

IMG_3054.jpg
As soon as this was on the table the smell instantly hit me and my mouth started to water, so now time to see what it was like.

This was a perfect size for a starter, and was packed with flavour.

If your a fan of samosa and like a little extra kick of spice, then you will like this.

This is a starter I would order again.

Main Course

Kofta Curry £9.95
Meatballs cooked in smooth spicy sauces

As my side to this dish I ordered chapati as I felt a naan would be too much.

I have had this dish at another restaurant and really liked it, so I thought lets see how here does it.

This for me was a little too spicy, don’t get me wrong it was very nice but for my palate it had too much of a kick (I normally do Korma so thats my heat level). Putting that aside the flavours were very nice, and very tasty.

Overall

As always here I have a nice relaxing time, and the food is always amazing. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, and can promise you that you will always get good service and good food every time you visit.

If your a fan of Indian food then do check this place out.
