La Vita Spuntini (West End, Glasgow) 2023 : Review

Visit & Vibes

Today I was back in the West End with a friend and she fancied checking out La Vita Spuntini.

I have been to this branch before and enjoyed my meal but it was ages ago.

Inside was bigger than I remember, and it now has a similar decor style to their other branches.

Today we were seated upstairs, so seeing what the upstairs looked like was nice.

The Food

Today’s visit was a late lunch, so we didn’t want to have anything too big so we opted to get a small plate each and if we were still hungry after that we could easily order more.

Babe Calzone £6.75
A traditional stone-baked calzone pizzetta, stuffed with black pudding, onions and ham and topped with mozzarella cheese.

This was from the small pizza section, as I was in for a late lunch.

On arrival, this was a really good size for a small pizza, and it looked visually very good.

The aroma was very good, and I cut into the calzone and the aroma just intensified and it smelled very very good.

I took a bite and oh now this was a good calzone! it was packed with flavour, the base? would you call it that? was nice and thin and perfectly cooked.

This was actually very filling and I am glad I didn’t order anything else for lunch, I would easily have this again.

Final Thoughts…

Due to being seated upstairs, the service was a little slow as we were slightly out of sight.

Apart from that I had a nice time, and enjoyed my meal.

Little Italy (West End, Glasgow) 2023 : Review

Visit & Vibes

I was in the area tonight and decided to pop in and have a light dinner, normally I get the pizza slice but I thought let’s try something different.

The Food

Tonight I just wanted a light dinner, so I thought let’s see the menu and go for whatever jumps out at me.

N’duja Meatballs £8.25
Pork and beef meatballs, with spicy nduja. in tomato sugo, topped with mozzarella and served with focaccia

Tonight I opted to go from the Starters as I wanted something light and small, and the meatballs were what jumped out at me.

On arrival this looked very good and the aroma was really good, my mouth started to water right away.

I tried the sauce first with a bit of the focaccia and mmm this was mega tasty! the sauce had a lovely flavour and the focaccia was light and fluffy and worked really well with this.

Now time to taste the meatballs!

The meatballs were packed with flavour, nice and juicy and extremely moreish! Mixed with the sauce this just added to the already very very tasty flavours!

Highly recommended if you visit here.

Nutella and Lemon mini cannoli

I was a bad blogger and forgot to take note of the cost of these but it wasn’t much.

I need to have my canolli fix anytime I visit here and I opted for the small ones today, one Nutella and the other lemon which I have never had before.

Just like every visit these were very very good and hit my sweet tooth perfectly! I enjoyed the Nutella one but the lemon one was a very pleasant surprise and I would easily get that one again.

Another one I recommend you try if you visit here.

Grillzz German Doner Peri Peri Takeaway (Wishaw) 2023 : Review

Visit & Vibes

I have been at Grillzz Glasgow branch, and the guys have just opened a new one in Wishaw and sent me a wee invite.

Check out my review of the Glasgow Grillzz Takeaway.

On arrival more so entering Grillzz I was pleasantly surprised at how different compared to the Glasgow one.

As you can see by the photos above, they have a wee area you can sit down and enjoy your order this had a nice and cosy feeling and I loved the wall decor.

The Food

Now it was time to order and I left it all down to the guys at Grillzz Wishaw to choose.

Chicken Doner Kebab £n/a tonight (normally £6.50)
Thinly Cut Slices Of Chicken Doner Served With Bread, Fresh Lettuce, Onion, Red Cabbage & Sauce

My drive home was filled with an amazing aroma, and it was making me more and more hungry.

I took this out of the container and placed it down on a plate, what I did notice was this was packed and looked SO SO GOOD! then the aroma again mmmm this made my mouth water more and more and I couldn’t wait to dig right in.

I took a BIG bite to make sure I got everything…

Now this was tasty! you have loads of textures, followed by many different flavours that work very very well together and if I say so this was one of the nicest doner kebabs I have had in a very long time.

Highly recommend if you check out the Glasgow or Wishaw branch.

Peri Peri Wings £n/a tonight (normally £6.00)
5x Classic Peri Peri Wings

I had these the last time and they remembered I liked them, so they made them again for me at the mild level of spice.

I plated these up and was hit by the lovely peri peri spice aroma, this was going to be a good meal.

These had a nice small kick to them followed by a great flavour, and the wings were very tender.

Every single wing was finished and these were just as good as I remembered, and I can’t wait to get more.

Ohh…do remember to keep a napkin near you when eating these as they do get a bit messy due to the sauce but its 100% worth it.

Donner Pizza £n/a tonight (normally £9.00)

The Grillzz Wishaw branch is the only one that does pizzas, so they wanted me to check one out and let them know my thoughts.

The Doner pizza was the one that stood out for me, as I am a BIG Doner fan!

I took a bite and WOW the flavour for me was really good! I don’t know what sauce they used and cheese but that with the doner on top was a great taste and I could have easily had two of these!!!

The pizza was cooked perfectly and had a lovely thin base and as I said it had a really great flavour! and one I can’t wait to have again.

Final Thoughts…

Firstly a BIG thanks to the guys at Grillzz Wishaw for my invite and the food!

Yip it was a bit of a drive for me to check them out, but it was 100% worth it.

Everything I got tonight was perfectly cooked, packed with flavour and one I will easily recommend to anyone to visit! Do check them out either their Glasgow branch or Wishaw branch and let me know what you think.

I am adding here to my top takeaway spots as I had no issues with anything tonight and really enjoyed my food.
