Chaiiwala (Glasgow Springfield Quay) 2021 : Review

The Visit

I was recently at Chaiiwalala Glasgow befre heading to see a film and really enjoyed my visit. I wanted to go back for another visit, to try some of the street food so I made plans with friends.

I then got a wee ping in my inbox from the guys there asking if I would like to come back to try some street food, so I accepted and added it to my calendar.

Inside

Firstly lets start with how stunning Chaiiwala looks inside!

The main section of Chaiiwala is for you to sit and snack, and they also have a section at the back (photos with green seats) where you can hire for events, business meetings etc so if you fancy hiring this lovely section out give them a call.

I have to admit its one of the nicest locations I have visited for a while.

The Food

I am a big fan of Indian food as you may have seen from my posts and blogs, so I was very excited to try some items tonight.

Kebab Roll
chicken sheekh with mint yoghurt sauce topped with fresh onions, wrapped in a paratha

On arrival this was wrapped up nicely in what looked like a old Indian newspaper, I really liked this as it felt like old school street food where you got your chips etc in newspaper.

It was now time to try it…

Oh this was mega tasty!!!!

The mint yoghurt with the rest of the flavours was very addictive! I could have easily had two of these .

Highly recommended if you visit here.

Mogo Chips
cassava fingers tossed in chilli powder served with a smokey gazebo sauce dip

I have never heard of Mogo Chips till tonight, and I was told what it was…a kind of a potato…kind of…

I thought I need to try this and see what its like.

On arrival they looked like normal chips, until I took a bite.

The texture is slightly thicker than a potato but such a nice flavour!

Karak Chaii
well brewed strong tea

I have this on my first visit here, and had to order it again as its just too good not to have.

Let me start by saying how cute is the cup? a lovely Scottish theme…nice touch 🙂

This is a lovely tea, its full of flavour, creamy and just sweet enough….its basically a hug in a cup.

Gulab Jamun

If you have been following my posts for a while now, you know I love gulab jamun and could easily have loads and loads.

I had to end my night with this, and it was soo good.

The gulab jamun was warm, moist and extremely moreish and so good with all the syrup.

If you have never tried gulab jamun before then take a visit here and try it, you will love it.
