Part 9: We’re nearly finished with all the internal work, which is good news because I can finally move in soon.
After completing a few small touch-ups in the kitchen, living room, and hall—such as glossing the skirting, repositioning items, tidying up the wooden window ledges, and varnishing them—it was time to fully focus on the bedroom. As you saw in the previous post, the wardrobe area needed a complete overhaul. I painted one wall a different colour from the rest, as that’s where the bed will go. It was time to get this room finished.
First, I needed to purchase the framing for the wardrobe area. The surrounding area needed tidying as well since it wasn’t entirely neat. Even though the framing will cover any imperfections, it’s better to address these details now.
Once that part was done, the wardrobe arrived, and I built and installed it. It made a massive difference, and the room began to take shape. I just needed to add the framing around the wardrobe, and that would complete the project.

I struggled with the framing so I needed to get some help in as I couldn’t get the wardrobe to be 100% straight, with some help it was finally completed and ready to get glossed.

The blind in the bedroom, as you saw from the last post, was also installed. The wooden window ledge had been tidied, and the skirting in the bedroom was finally glossed. Now, it was time to focus on the last big part of the renovation inside, which will probably, and hopefully, be the last major expense: the bathroom.
