Bella Vita (Mosspark, Glasgow) 2023 : Review

The Visit

Yip back again as I was with my mum helping her shopping at Silverburn and we decided to pop in here for a lunch come dinner.

On arrival, we were lucky as they managed to give us a table, and walking to our seats the aroma from the tables and kitchen made me mega hungry.

The Food

Just like last time the guys here brought out a wee appetizer for us to nibble on, and it was more like a starter for two but it looked and smelled amazing.

The Food

Today I decided to go off their dinner set menu priced at £15.95

Pollo Fritto Picante
Deep fried chicken strips coated in a spicy batter, served with a dressed salad and sweet chili mayonnaise dip.

I had to get this starter again and it’s just mega morish, in fact, if I had it my way, I’d happily make it my starter, main course, and dessert, that’s how incredibly tasty it is.

Upon its arrival, the dish was an enticing sight to behold, and the aromatic notes that wafted up were nothing short of delightful. However, the true magic happened with that initial bite.

The Pollo Fritto, when savored in isolation, is an orchestra of flavors that dances on your taste buds with such finesse that it could easily stand alone as a star. But when paired with the accompanying mayonnaise, it elevates the entire experience with a subtle yet impactful enhancement. Is it strictly necessary? Not in the least. The Pollo Fritto, with its sensational flavor profile, is a solo act worthy of applause.

As I consistently say, this dish comes highly recommended.

Lasagna al Forno
Oven-baked pasta sheets layered with Bolognese, bechamel sauce & mozzarella, finished with parmesan & basil

I couldn’t remember whether I’d ever sampled the lasagna here yet, so I decided it was high time to give it a try. Typically, no matter where I dine, my mum’s lasagna reigns supreme, bearing an indescribable perfection that I’ve yet to encounter elsewhere. Skepticism in tow, I embarked on this culinary journey, fully aware that Mum’s culinary prowess would be hard to surpass.

The lasagna arrived with an appealing visual presentation that piqued my interest, and its aromatic allure instantly had my taste buds in a state of anticipation. As I delved into the dish, the first sensation was the comforting heat emanating from the layers, which only added to the excitement. The flavors were nothing short of spectacular, each bite brimming with an impressive depth of taste.

For fellow lasagna aficionados, this is undoubtedly a dish worth exploring. I have no doubt that you’ll find it highly enjoyable.
