Visit & Vibes

I have been here many times, either for lunch, a little shopping, or both; it’s one of my favourite farm shops to visit.

Today’s visit was for catching up with friends. We did some shopping and stayed for lunch.

DAILY SPECIAL : Hot Smoked Salmon & Denhead Asparagus Tart £14.95
with Red Pepper Mayonnaise & Homemade Oatcakes

Since I’ve already tried several items from the main menu, I decided to choose something from the daily specials today to see what they had to offer.

This dish really stood out to me, and I couldn’t wait to try it. Upon arrival, the presentation was beautiful and the portion size was perfect for lunch.

I started with the tart on its own, and it was delicious and perfectly cooked! The salmon flavor was excellent and paired well with the other ingredients. After a few bites, I tried it with the side sauce, wow, that was good! It added an extra layer of flavor without overpowering the salmon.

From start to finish, this tart was a standout, and I’d easily order it again if I saw it on the specials board. To finish, I had the oatcakes with butter. They truly melted in my mouth and were probably some of the best oatcakes I’ve ever tasted.

Overall, it was a fantastic dish packed with flavour, the perfect lunch.

Chocolate Mousse Cake

I couldn’t resist trying one of their desserts today, and as you might have guessed from my “mega” sweet tooth, I went for the chocolate slice.

On arrival, it again had a beautiful presentation, which didn’t last long, as I couldn’t wait to dive in!

They warmed it up slightly so it was extra yummy. It was delicious and not overly sweet; the added chocolate sauce was a lovely touch that I enjoyed from start to finish.
