Visit & Vibes

I have had Amarone on my list for ages, and tonight finally went to check it out.

On arrival, I loved the entrance, and on entering you are welcomed to a lovely bright and modern restaurant.

The staff were very welcoming and showed me to my table.

The Food

I had no idea what to order tonight, so I thought let’s order something that I wouldn’t normally go for.

CAPESANTE AMARONE £14.50
Seared Scottish king scallops, shiitake mushroom, crispy pancetta crumb, creamy saffron velouté and asparagus

I was close to going for the Mozzarella in Carrozza, but then the friend I was with tonight mentioned this and this sounded a lot better so that’s what I opted for.

The presentation of this looked good and also had a nice aroma.

I wanted to make sure I got the perfect bite for my first bite, so I made sure I had a bit of everything on my fork.

Flavourwise it was nice but it wasn’t bursting with flavour more just an ok flavour. The scallops were perfectly cooked and had a nice bite to them, and it was the same for everything on this plate.

Everything was very nice about this dish, but flavour-wise it was just ok for me.

BUCATINI ALL’ AMATRICIANA £13.95
Finely chopped Guanciale pork cheek from Norcia and San Marzano tomato sugo, Pecorino Romano, cracked black pepper and bucatini pasta

Normally I go for a spaghetti carbonara, but I didn’t see that on the menu tonight…I was glad as it forced me to try something different.

On arrival, this looked really good and had a very very nice aroma.

The main reason I ordered this was I saw it had guanciale and I really love guanciale.

I dug right in and tried not to make too much of a mess.

This was very nice, it had a lovely tomato and pepper flavour, and the pasta was perfectly cooked.

For me, the guanciale was more a texture than a flavour to this dish, which was a shame as it would have been nice to taste that but the tomato and pepper flavours were much stronger.

Final Thoughts…

Overall tonights visit was very nice, I had a lovely time and enjoyed my food.

I will try something different next time, as for me the flavours were just ok but don’t get me wrong the food was very good just I could have done with something that really ticked my tastebuds.
