Scotts Bar & Restaurant (Troon) 2022 : Review

Todays Visit

The last time I visited Troon was probably in 2019, and I added Scotts to my to visit list. Then life and covid happened, but now I have finally visited and I am glad I did.

Inside I was shown to a wee booth, and I had a great view of the bar and the surroundings. I also noticed they had a little section that overlooked the boats, so next visit I will aim to try and be seated here.

The Food

I was hungry today so I knew I wanted at least to have two courses, so I started looking and this is what I decided to have today.

GÂTEAU OF HAGGIS £8.25
Bashed neeps, champit tatties, whisky & Arranmustard sauce

I have not had haggis in ages and when I saw this I thought “yeah let’s have it tonight”

On arrival as you can see by the above photos, the presentation looked very good and I can say the aroma was very very good too.

I took a bite with everything and WOW this was good!

I was first hit by the creamy sauce which had an amazing flavour, followed by the haggis then the mash and hints in the texture of the crispy onions.

This sauce and the haggis were the perfect combo and I loved every mouth full…and I could have easily had this again.

This was amazing and I loved every bite!

Prime Beef Burger £15.45
Dill pickle, crispy onion, home-smoked tomato relish, brioche bun & fries 15.45

I opted for a burger tonight as I was very hungry and thought after my starter this should fill me up.

On arrival this looked nice, and also had a very nice aroma.

I started with the chips, these were nice, with a good crispness to them and perfectly salted…a solid 10/10 for these.

Now on to the burger, I did get bacon and cheese added on (didn’t take note of the cost for these extras)

I took a big bite and yes this was a BIG bite…

The burger was cooked perfectly, with great taste and was very juicy, which is great as I hate a dry burger. With everything in the bun the whole bite was very nice, the only letdown I would say…if I was being fussy was the bacon as it could have been less chewy.

Overall a good taste and a very filling burger with amazing chips.

Visit Overall

I am so glad I checked here out, as inside was lovely, had a relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was very good.

I spotted a few other dishes on the menu I would like to try, so I will check them out on my next visit.
