The Ivy Buchanan Street (Glasgow) 2022 : Review

Visit & Vibes

Today’s visit I booked via the app OpenTable, and I have wanted to check here out for a while and have heard a few good things so it was time to see for myself.

OpenTable has many many places on their app for booking restaurants in and around Glasgow, but here grabbed me so I placed my booking.

On entering the inside looked really nice, and I was welcomed and shown to my table.

I felt where I was seated the tables were slightly too close together, but that’s a personal thing.

Looking around again the decor was nice and it had a nice atmosphere.

Today was a Sunday afternoon and there were still a few tables free, so I knew service, etc should be good and I couldn’t wait to try their food.

The Food

I opened the menu and wow they had a big selection, so there will be something for everyone’s taste.

I spotted many items I would have tried so I had to narrow that down and this is what I finally opted for.

Duck Liver Parfait £8.75
Caramelised hazelnuts, truffle, pear, and ginger compote, toasted brioche

On arrival, this looked very nice, and I couldn’t wait to try it with the toasted brioche as that sounded like an amazing combo.

I tried it on its own and it had a great flavor and texture to it, the hazelnuts added a nice wee crunch, and the compote mixed with the parfait was so good.

Now with the brioche, this took it to another level.

The brioche with this mmmm I LOVED every bite!

I can’t fault this in any way it was so so good! and highly recommend it.

THE IVY TRUFFLE HAMBURGER £17.50
Chargrilled in a brioche bun with truffle mayonnaise, horseradish ketchup, and thick-cut chips. Add Camembert – 2.95

On arrival, this was a BIG dish and a BIG burger.

I loved how you could add any extras on your burger yourself as some people don’t like things and then have to take them off.

I also did add the extra camembert to my burger for the little extra cost.

I started with the chips and these were perfectly cooked, had great flavour, and were perfectly salted…mega tasty!

Now on to the burger, so the only thing I left off the burger was the lettuce as I felt it could add a layer where things could slide out so I played safe today.

I took a big bite and wow I really needed to open wide!

Firstly let’s start with the burger, this was a thick burger, packed with a nice flavour and also moist which was great as I hate a dry burger.

Bite overall this was mega tasty and right up there for me with a few of the best spots for burgers!

I was mega full after this and it’s another dish I highly recommend.

Angelic Amaretti Sour £6.95
Lyre’s alcohol-free Amaretti shaken with foaming solution, lemon juice, and a touch of sugar

I fancied a wee mocktail and ordered this, I was asked if I would like it with my main dish and I said yes.

When my main dish arrived I was asked again if I wanted this and again I said yes.

When it did finally arrive 24mins later and after my main meal it was worth the wait.

This had a nice blend of sour and sweet and was very thirst-quenching.
