The Device

With around 98% of the work inside my new house now complete, I’ve started looking for useful products to have around the home—whether for everyday use, the kitchen, or the bedroom.

When I first moved in, I bought a cheap hoover just to get started. After that, I thought, “Why not get a smart hoover?” So, I added a few to my Amazon wishlist, thinking that once my bills settled down and I paid off a bit more of my credit cards, I’d treat myself to one—especially since a few models had caught my eye.

I did some research, and one model stood out above the rest, even beating a big-name brand. That’s the one I added to my wishlist.

April was my birthday, and to my surprise, my best friend bought it for me as a gift—which was absolutely amazing! It was finally time to set it up and find out if my research had paid off.

The Setup

Once I got the device out of the box and placed it where I wanted it to go, it was time to set it up. I followed the instructions, downloaded the app to my phone, and from there, the device pretty much took over and did what it needed to do.

At first, the robot goes around bumping into quite a few things as it maps out your home. This only happens during the initial setup. Once it finishes mapping, it returns to the charging station automatically. At that point, you can open the app and assign room names based on the mapped layout, as well as set no-go zones where you don’t want it to enter.

For me, I set it to avoid the bathroom, as I didn’t want it bumping into a few items in there. Other than that, I was very happy with how easy the initial setup was.

I’ve scheduled it to clean daily while I’m at work, so by the time I come home, all the hoovering is done. This frees up a bit of time every day, so I can focus on other things—whether that’s mopping the floors or just relaxing. I’m not lazy by any means, but this is a great way to save a little time and effort.

After using it for over a month, I’ve had no real issues. A couple of helpful tips: make sure there are no cables or loose wires lying around, as it may get stuck and pause until you can free it. But aside from that, it’s been fantastic.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, I’m really happy with it. It’s perfect for the size of my house and does a great job at cleaning. The built-in dustbin is actually quite roomy. Depending on how messy your home gets, you might need to empty it more often, but for me, I can go over a week—sometimes even two—before needing to empty it.

Honestly, I love this device. I’m not just saying that—it genuinely works well and I highly recommend it if you’ve been thinking about getting a robot vacuum. This particular version only hoovers, but there are upgraded models that can dock and self-empty, which are a bit more expensive. For me, though, this one is absolutely perfect.
