India Quay (Glasgow) 2024

Visit & Vibes

This weekend, I headed to see Becky Hill at the OVO Hydro, and before the gig, I decided to grab a meal.

Although I’ve walked past this place many times, I had never been inside, so I was excited to finally check it out and see what they had to offer.

The interior was impressive—modern, spacious, and brightly lit. The staff were incredibly welcoming, guiding us to our table with great hospitality.

The Food

Menu Choice★★★★★

VEGETABLE PAKORA £5.50
A delicious mix of potato, onion, cauliflower and spinach leaves in a
light crispy batter served with sauce and salad garnish.

I decided to go with the vegetable pakora as my starter. I had been craving pakora for a while since I hadn’t had it in some time.

When it arrived, the presentation was very appealing, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

The pakora was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. However, I noticed something sprinkled over the top that I couldn’t quite identify. Whatever it was, it wasn’t necessary—it added a bit of extra salt, which didn’t enhance the flavour. The pakora on its own, especially with the accompanying sauce, was delicious, so the topping felt unnecessary.

Overall, I really enjoyed the starter, but the sprinkle on top was a bit distracting and took away from the lovely natural flavour of the vegetable pakora.

CHICKEN TIKKA CHASNI £12.95
A rich creamy sauce with a twist of sweet and sour.

For my main, I decided to try one of their curries, as it had been a while since I last had one. Normally, I go for my usual korma, but the Chasni caught my eye today, so I went with that instead.

When it arrived, the presentation was impressive, and the aroma was inviting—I couldn’t wait to dig in.

The flavour was excellent. It was lovely and creamy with a subtle sweetness, and the chicken tikka was perfectly cooked, adding an extra depth of flavour.

Overall, this was a really nice dish. I even saved some curry at the end to dip my naan in!

PESHWARI NAAN £4.50

I ordered a Peshwari naan and was eager to see how theirs would turn out. Usually, I find that some have too little flavour, while others go overboard with sweetness.

When it arrived, it looked great, and after my first bite, I could tell it had the perfect balance of naan and sweetness. I enjoyed it from start to finish, even using it to scoop up the remaining curry sauce.
