The Radhuni (Loanhead) 2024 : Review

Visit & Vibes

I was recently invited to return to Lone Head to visit the Radhuni Indian restaurant, which has now completed its outdoor area.

The last time I was there, they were still working on it and mentioned it to me, so I was looking forward to seeing the finished space and trying the food again, as it was absolutely amazing on my first visit.

Walking through the restaurant towards the back section and the garden, I noticed that the interior design is still very impressive, and the staff are all very pleasant and welcoming.

Stepping into the garden, I was amazed at how stunning it looked. As you can see from the pictures, it is truly beautiful.

On a lovely, sunny day or a dry evening, it will be a fantastic place to sit, enjoy a meal, have a drink, and enjoy the company you’re with. I was eager to experience it tonight.

Tonights Starter

At tonight’s event, we were welcomed by the owner and offered a welcome drink before being seated at a table outside, where the atmosphere was very pleasant. Fortunately, the weather was dry, which made a significant difference.

We were then served a delightful selection of their starters, including chicken pakora, vegetable pakora, haggis pakora, and more. The aroma was wonderful, and everything looked delicious, so it was time to dig in.

Just like last time, everything I tried from this platter was perfectly cooked. The vegetable pakora had a light, crispy batter and a lovely flavour, making it extremely moreish.

The chicken pakora was super tender with a delightful flavour, and the batter was perfect. The haggis pakora featured a smooth haggis with a really nice taste. The chicken tikka was also perfectly cooked.

My favourites were the vegetable and chicken pakora. I could have easily eaten more and more tonight; they were that good. Highly recommended if you’re ordering a starter here. Tonight was off to a very, very good start.

Tonights Main

The next dish that came out tonight was the main course.

We were served a chicken biryani, accompanied by a vegetable curry that you could pour over the top if you wished. Personally, I’ve never had biryani with a side of curry, so it was going to be interesting to try it.

The biryani on its own was perfectly cooked. The rice was lovely and full of flavour, and the chicken was very nice as well. I tried the side curry with it, and while it did add to the flavour, it also took away from the traditional biryani taste.

I think this is one of those dishes where you either like it with the curry or you don’t.

Being a bit more traditional, I prefer the biryani as it is, but the vegetable curry was full of flavour, and overall, the main course was really nice.

Final Thoughts…

Firstly, a massive thanks to the team for inviting me.

Tonight was really, really nice, and it was great to be back. As I mentioned, the restaurant is a hidden gem in this area and definitely worth a visit.

For me, the starter was incredibly tasty; I could have easily had more of the chicken and vegetable pakora. That’s how good it was.

The biryani was perfectly cooked and very nice. While the curry served with it was full of flavour, I prefer a more traditional biryani without the curry. However, this comes down to personal preference—some people will like it, some will love it, and some will prefer it as it is.

Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a fantastic event. Whether you choose to dine inside the restaurant or outside in their new area, it’s definitely worth checking out.
