Visit & Vibes
I was recently invited to return to Chikaros in Glasgow, having enjoyed a delightful visit some time ago—my review is available here.

On this second visit, everything appeared as charming, bright, and modern as before.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, and I opted for a booth to ensure good lighting for photos and comfortable seating, mirroring the pleasant experience from my previous visit.

The Food
Dynamite King Prawns (£n/a tonight normally £7.49)
6 Battered king prawns coated in a thick creamy sweet & spicy sauce.

For my first course, the starters, I opted for the Dynamite King Prawns.
The menu described it as six battered king prawns coated in a thick, creamy, sweet, and spicy sauce, and it was highly recommended. Upon arrival, the presentation was appealing, everything looked appetizing, and the aroma was delightful.
Digging in, I found the prawns were perfectly cooked, and the sauce was lovely and creamy with a delightful flavour, although I didn’t detect much spice.
Despite that, it made for a truly enjoyable starter with a great portion size and attractive presentation and a dish I would happily have again.

Kebabish Burrito (£n/a tonight normally £10.99)
Mincemeat & Donner

For my main course, I decided this time around to go for a burrito and the kebabish one which contained mincemeat and doner jumped right out at me.
Luckily the staff member told me it has quite a kick and asked if I would like it to be made milder which I said yes.
On arrival, this looked huge, really good value for money. The staff members then come with some dry dice and put that on the table to give you that cool effect for any photos and videos but overall visually the appearance of this was really nice and I also opted for their special house fries.
These were perfectly cooked and had a sauce over them or a cheese I couldn’t quite make it out but they were very nice.
Digging right into the burrito this was packed as you can see from the photos.
The flavour of this was really really nice I love doner meat so this hit every spot and ticked every box. This is really really good and if you’re a burrito fan this is definitely value for money and very tasty.

Irn Bru Daiquiri (£n/a tonight normally £6.95)

In addition to my main dish, I decided to try the new Iron Brew Daiquiri from the menu.
Being a big fan of Irn Brew, I was curious about its taste.
Since I was the designated driver for the night, I appreciated that this was a mocktail, making it an ideal choice for those abstaining from alcohol.
Upon arrival, it was visually appealing, and upon taking a sip, it delivered precisely what you’d anticipate—a delightful Iron Brew Daiquiri.
The flavour was excellent, making it a tasty and harmonious complement to my meal.

Malteaser Milkshake (£n/a tonight normally £6.49)

Instead of choosing a dessert, I decided to indulge in one of their milkshakes, specifically the Malteser milkshake.
Upon arrival, it presented itself quite nicely. I was asked if I wanted whipped cream on top, and it’s always a yes from me.
Upon taking a few sips, it proved to be a delightful experience. While I couldn’t distinctly taste the Maltesers, it was an overall enjoyable chocolate milkshake that hit all the right notes. With the addition of ground-up chocolate bits and, of course, the cream on top, it crafted a very pleasing milkshake.

Final Thoughts…
I’d like to express a big thanks to the team at Chickaros in Glasgow for the invitation and the delightful food tonight.
Overall, my experience was very positive, and I must admit it surpassed my first visit, particularly in terms of the food quality. The flavours tonight were notably improved, with the standout being the burrito, exceptionally tasty.
If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend checking them out. It’s worth noting that Chickaros is also a halal food spot, making it a great choice for those seeking halal options.
The staff mentioned that they’ll be updating their menu soon, so be sure to explore what’s changed, added, or removed.
If you happen to visit, I’d love to hear about your experience, including what you order and your thoughts.
