The guys over at The Western Club Restaurant kindly invited me over to dine with them, I had never been here before so I accepted and added to my calendar.

On arrival I got a little confused as to when I walked up to the door, I saw a doorbell….at first I thought maybe they don’t open till later so I waited. After maybe 5mins someone exited and spoke to me…and then shown me to the restaurant.

Basically, the top floor is a private members club, and they like to have the door secure so this cleared things up for me…..so my next visit I will just ring the bell upon arrival.

Looking Around

Once I entered I went up to the first floor and entered the restaurant.

Wow, this place is very nice, as you can see from the above photo it has a very smart but relaxing look to it….and since it’s situated on the first floor if you get a window seat you can see Royal Exchange Square.

The Food…

I was given a menu to choose what I wanted, so it was decision time…..here’s what I choose.

Starter

Chicken liver parfait, Arran oaties and red onion chutney

I am a big fan of this dish as my starter, and as you know if you follow my posts when I have this I am mega fussy….why? well, normally you get lots of parfait and not enough to put it on….was this the case?

To be honest it was but! yes, there’s a but I just added extra to the oaties and then ate some salad with it. I didn’t mind as it was a very good parfait and I enjoyed it very much.

Main Course

Risotto of sun blushed tomatoes & spring onion, parmesan crisps, pea shoots

Risotto is my second favourite Italian dish after Carbonara, so I had to try it here and see how the chef did it.

This was very nice, and not very heavy which was good as some times you can feel very bloated and too full after it in some places.

The parmesan crisp was very nice, and very moreish and worked perfectly with the dish.

Desert

Rasberry Crème Brulee

I love Crème Brulee so I had to have this option, plus the raspberry part sounded interesting.

This was really good and so good I could have easily had more, and the little biscuits just melted in your mouth.

Firstly I would like to thank the Western Club for my invite.
