Visit & Vibes

I was recently invited to come and check this place out for Sunday lunch.

Stirling isn’t somewhere I visit very often, so I was really looking forward to exploring it and hopefully discovering a new favourite spot to add to my list and one I’d love to return to again.

From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and showed us to our table. The space itself was really lovely, with a cosy design and a relaxing atmosphere. At that point, I knew I was in for a great Sunday lunch.

As this is also a hotel, I’ve included a few photos of the bedrooms below in case you fancy booking an overnight stay too.

During our visit and meal, we were serenaded by jazz singer Michael Lewis, who is only 18 years old and absolutely fantastic.

He performed many classics, from New York, New York to Fly Me to the Moon, and every song added beautifully to the atmosphere. It made the experience that little bit extra special. He’s incredibly talented, so please check out his Instagram once you watch his videos, you’ll understand why. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed listening to him, and I could happily listen to him again and again.

The Food

Menu Choice★★★★★

Smoked Salmon Gravadlax
Capers, Caviar, Crème Fraîche & Brown Bread.

There were so many options on the menu that really caught my attention, but I knew I wanted at least two courses, so I decided to go for one main and one dessert to see how they do things here.

I opted for the smoked salmon, as I’m a massive fan, and when it arrived, the presentation was perfect. It looked amazing, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

My first bite had to include a little bit of everything; some people call it the perfect bite, so I made sure to get a bit of each element, and as expected, it was amazing. I could taste every individual flavour, but they also worked beautifully together. It was delicious from start to finish and highly recommended.

This was the perfect first dish for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it and could easily order it again.

Whisky Eton Mess, Raspberries

If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram, you’ll know I have a serious sweet tooth, so there was no way I was leaving without dessert. I decided to go for the Eton Mess, as I hadn’t had one in a very long time.

Once again, the presentation was lovely, and I couldn’t wait to tuck in.

This was absolutely delicious and hit my sweet tooth perfectly. The textures were spot on, from the meringue to the cream and raspberries. It was lovely from start to finish and the perfect way to end the lunch.

Final Thoughts…

Firstly, a massive thank you to everyone here for inviting me along today. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect, from the atmosphere and service to the food, making it a really lovely Sunday afternoon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and honestly can’t fault this place in any way. I’d already mentioned it to several people before even typing up this blog, and when I told them they also offer afternoon tea, they were very interested, so hopefully they’ll visit and have an experience just as great as mine. This is definitely somewhere I’d return to and highly recommend, so I’m adding it straight to my top places list.

Another big thank you to all the staff for making today extra special. The service was amazing, and everyone I spoke to was genuinely lovely especially Ben who was our main waiter.

As mentioned at the start of the blog, we also had singer-creator Michael Lewis performing, who was absolutely incredible. Do check out his Instagram: if you ever get the chance to see him live, you’ll understand why we loved listening to him from start to finish. This guy is going places.

If you’ve enjoyed reading my blog, I highly recommend checking this place out, you won’t be disappointed, and I can’t wait for my return visit.
