Gloriosa (West End, Glasgow) 2026 : Review

Visit & Vibes

Tonight, I met up with friends for a much-needed catch-up after many weeks apart, and this was the restaurant we chose.

The last time I was here was in 2001, so I was really looking forward to returning and seeing how it had changed.

The Food

Menu Choice★★★★

Pappardelle £19.00
pork ragu, parmesan

The menu is varied, though for my personal taste it felt slightly limited, but there were still a few dishes that caught my attention.

The main one was the pappardelle, so that’s what I decided to order.

When it arrived, the presentation was beautiful, and the aroma was incredible. Just from the smell alone, I knew I was in for a treat.

I tried the pasta first, perfectly cooked with a lovely flavour, as everything was well mixed so you got a bit of everything in each bite. Then I tried the pork on its own: super tender and packed with flavour.

Overall, this dish was outstanding. It’s easily one of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time, and I’d absolutely order it again on my next visit.

Panna cotta £9.00
blood orange, burnt caramel, nut biscuit

There’s always room for dessert, and the panna cotta immediately caught my eye.

When it arrived, the presentation was lovely. I started with the panna cotta and blood orange, which was really good, but once I broke up the biscuit, that’s when the dish truly came to life. The texture of the biscuit, combined with the nuts and panna cotta, made it stand out beautifully.

Personally, I would’ve swapped the blood orange for a second nut biscuit, but overall this was a delicious dessert and a lovely way to finish both the meal and the evening catch-up.

Final Thoughts…

Overall, the visit was fantastic, firstly for the much-needed catch-up, and secondly for the amazing food I enjoyed tonight.

Both dishes were excellent, but the standout for me was the Pappardelle; it was truly outstanding.

If you’ve never been here or have been thinking about visiting, I highly recommend it. Let me know your thoughts if you do!
