Visit & Vibes
I was recently invited to Mister Singh’s India in Glasgow to attend their Pakora Masterclass. I had only ever heard good things about the restaurant, and it had been on my list to try for ages, so I was really looking forward to the experience.
The Pakora Masterclass
On arrival, we were all seated with a view of a table filled with a variety of spices and ingredients. You could tell that everyone was excited to see what was coming next.

Chef Josh then arrived and explained what to expect. He told us he would be showing us how to make Haggis, Chicken, and Vegetable pakoras, including the ingredients to use for the batter and tips for preparation.
Watching the whole process was fascinating. Chef Josh explained everything clearly and had a fantastic sense of humour, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
After each pakora was made, we got to try them immediately. Freshly made pakoras are always a treat, and these were absolutely delicious—I could have easily had more!

This was such a wonderful experience, and everyone really enjoyed it. I can honestly say I learned a lot about the process of making each type of pakora.
If you’re a fan of cooking or are curious about making homemade pakoras, this event is definitely for you!
The next part of the event was the food. We were all guided over to the main restaurant area and got to order our meals.
The menu for the event was excellent, offering something for everyone.
For my starter, I chose the Traditional Onion Bhaji.

When it arrived, it looked amazing, and the aroma was incredible! I took a bite—and wow, I immediately took another. The batter was perfectly crisp, the flavor was outstanding, and I have to say, it was probably one of the best Onion Bhajis I’ve ever had.
I really enjoyed it from start to finish and could have easily gone back for seconds! If you’re a Bhaji fan, I highly recommend this—you won’t be disappointed.

For my main course, I could have easily picked at least three dishes, but I decided to go for the signature dish.
I ordered the Ambala. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the gamble paid off beautifully.

Once plated, I tried the Ambala on its own. The aroma was fantastic—I could smell the layers of spices used in the dish. Then I took a bite.
It was bursting with incredible flavor and had such a delicious taste. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and combined with the spices, it made for an amazing dish. I’m so glad I took the risk of ordering something I wouldn’t normally choose.
Overall, it was extremely tasty—definitely one dish I would happily have again.
