Visit & Vibes

I was recently invited to Smash Kings in Glasgow to try their takeaway. I’m a huge fan of smash burgers, although I haven’t had one in a while, so I was really looking forward to this.

Before ordering, I had a look at their menu — and honestly, so many of the items sounded great. I decided to go for one that I wouldn’t normally choose, just to see what it was like.

The Food

Fresh brioche bun, 2x smashed 3oz 85g of British Angus beef, melted American cheese, King’s secret seasonings, King’s smash sauce, gherkins and diced onions.

After getting my takeaway and jumping into the car, the drive home was tough — the smell of the food sitting on the passenger seat was making me even hungrier! I honestly couldn’t wait to get in.

Once I got home, I took all my photos and then sat down to enjoy my burger.

I started with the chips — they were perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. The ones at the top had a nice dusting of seasoning, which added great flavour. My only thought was that it would’ve been even better if all of them had that same coating. That said, even the ones without it were still super tasty — highly recommend getting them!

Then it was time to try the burger. I took a massive bite to make sure I got everything, and it did not disappoint. The beef burger was perfectly cooked and super juicy. I love a smashed burger — you really can’t go wrong with that! With everything combined — the gherkins, onions, cheese, and brioche bun — this was a seriously good burger. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve already told a few friends they need to check this place out.

Final Thoughts…

Overall, this was an excellent burger and fries combo. Judging by the rest of the menu and what was on display, I can’t wait to go back and try another beef burger, or maybe even one of their chicken burgers, to see what that’s like. This place is definitely worth a visit, so keep an eye out — when I go back, you’ll see another post!
