Visit & Vibes

I was recently invited back to Chicky’s on Duke Street, Glasgow. I last visited in May and had a really enjoyable meal, so I was looking forward to returning.

The team here mentioned that they’ve reduced their prices to make things a bit easier in today’s expensive economy. That’s always a welcome change, as eating out—or even just getting a takeaway—can sometimes be very costly. With Chickie’s lowering their prices, it definitely helps, and if tonight’s food is anything like my last visit, you’re in for a treat.

The inside still looks the same, with tables available if you’d like to sit in. You can also pop by to pick up a takeaway order you’ve placed in advance, or simply order and wait.

5 Pc Flavoured Crispy Tenders – Drizzled With Sesame Seeds. Fries, 1x 330ml Drink, 1 Dip

Tonight, the guys were offering one of their Feast Boxes, and I went for the Tenders Box. With this one, you get five crispy chicken tenders, a portion of fries, a drink, and a dip.

Just like last time, you can choose the heat level of your chicken and also decide whether you’d like your fries plain or a little spicy. You also get to pick from seven dips, including Red Riot, Ranch, Garlic Mayo, and Sweet Chilli, to name a few.

When my meal arrived, it looked great, and the aroma instantly hit me. I tried a piece of the chicken on its own before dipping, and it was perfectly cooked—lovely and tender on the inside with a nice crispness on the outside. The flavour was spot on.

For the fries, I opted for a little spice. They had a powdered coating, similar to Nando’s, and again were perfectly cooked with a lovely flavour. The seasoning was spread evenly, so every fry had that tasty coating—something not every place gets right. I then tried them with my dip, which made them even better.

Honestly, I can’t fault this meal. It was super tasty, very filling, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

Final Thoughts…

A big thanks to the team here for inviting me back to try something new. It was great to sit in and enjoy my meal, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. The chicken tenders were absolutely delicious—probably some of the best I’ve had in a very long time. If my review has tickled your taste buds, I highly recommend checking them out.
