Visit & Vibes

I love discovering new places, and my parents recommended this one for me to check out. I’ve often driven past here on my way to Troon, but I had no idea there was a restaurant inside the farm shop—so it was a pleasant surprise to finally visit and see what it was like.

When I arrived, the car park was quite full, so I hoped they still had a table available. I didn’t take any interior photos, as there were families with children, and I prefer not to photograph when kids are around. However, if you’re interested, you can find more photos on their Facebook page. Luckily, I managed to get a table!

The staff here showed me to my table, and as I looked around, I noticed how nice the place was. There’s a seating area near large glass windows that offer a fantastic view, and there are also booths at the back. As I mentioned, the place was very busy, so I felt lucky to get a table. Now it was time to check out the menu and decide what to have for lunch.

I visited on a Sunday and decided to check out both the regular menu and their Sunday specials. The dish that caught my eye was the loaded fries—they sounded too good to pass up, so I had to try them.

When they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. I figured this would likely be my lunch and dinner combined! As you can see from the photos, they looked absolutely delicious. The aroma was amazing, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

I started with the fries, making sure to get some cheese on each bite, and wow—they tasted amazing! Then, I combined everything, and it was just delicious. Honestly, I think this might be one of the tastiest loaded fries I’ve ever had. I loved every bite from start to finish.

As I mentioned, the portion size was generous and extremely filling. I had originally planned to try some of their cakes afterwards, but I was too full. However, I didn’t mind because the flavours were incredible, everything was perfectly cooked, and the presentation was lovely. This is now one of my top-loaded fries, and I highly, highly recommend it!

Final Thoughts…

Overall, today’s visit was really enjoyable. The staff were lovely, very pleasant, and extremely helpful. Although I wasn’t seated right by the window, I was close enough to still enjoy the nice view—even though the weather wasn’t great, as is often the case in Scotland around this time of year. The food I had today was amazing.

I’m so glad I came across this place, and I love recommending hidden gems to you. Be sure to check it out and support local farms. They also have a farm shop with some fantastic products for sale. I spotted a few things I liked, but with my budget being tight after the renovation, I’ll have to wait until my next visit to pick up a few items.
