I recently returned to Overton Farm in Carluke for lunch and a quick browse around the farm shop. Since my last visit, the new farm shop area has been completed, and it looks absolutely fantastic.

The Food

Double smashed Burger
served with homemade coleslaw and chips.

I noticed on the specials board that they had a double smash burger served with chips and coleslaw, and I decided to give it a try since I don’t think I’ve ever had a burger here before.

When it arrived, the portion was really generous. The chips looked great, the coleslaw was fresh, and the burger was enormous.

Taking a big bite, I found the burger to be incredibly juicy and packed with flavour. The smashed patties were delicious, and the cheese added an extra layer of goodness. It was an all-around tasty burger, and I’m glad I tried it. I assume the burgers are made using the farm’s own produce, which probably explains why they tasted so fresh and flavorful.

The chips were perfectly cooked, and everything today was absolutely delicious. I left feeling very full but very satisfied that I tried the burger.

Final Thoughts…

As always, I really enjoy my visits here and whatever I choose for lunch. Granted, it’s a bit more expensive than you might typically expect to spend, but you’re supporting the farm. Everything is fresh, and that’s what really matters. I don’t mind paying a little extra for high-quality food while also supporting local farms.
