Visit & Vibes
The team at Gõst recently invited me to check out their restaurant. Although I had never been before, I had heard great things about the place, so I added it to my list of places to visit a while ago. Recently, I finally had the chance to go.

The interior is absolutely stunning, with a lovely atmosphere. The décor is modern and stylish, creating a cosy and relaxing ambience. At that point, I knew I was in for a fantastic experience.

The Food

Sunday Menu : 2 courses £30 or 3 courses £35
PAN-SEARED SCOTTISH KING SCALLOPS (£7 SUPPLEMENT)
Nduja crumb, cauliflower puree, green apple

Today, I was presented with two menus: their à la carte menu and their Sunday menu, which offered two courses for £30 or three courses for £35.
I decided to choose from the Sunday menu and was immediately drawn to the pan-seared Scottish king scallops. Scallops are always a treat for me, and when prepared well, they can be truly exceptional.
When the dish arrived, the presentation was beautiful, and my mouth instantly started watering. I couldn’t wait to dive in.
I cut a small piece of one of the scallops, making sure to get some of the nduja crumb and purée, so I had a perfect combination of all the elements. From the very first bite, I knew this dish was incredible. Every single bite, from start to finish, was so good that I could have easily enjoyed it again and again. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the flavours were wonderfully balanced, and I highly recommend this dish.

DOUBLE CRUST GOST BURGER
two thin smashed crust patties, sesame-seeded brioche, crispy bacon, bacon mayo, homemade wheat beer cheese sauce, skinny fries

For my main course, I was torn between two dishes, but for some reason, I decided to go with the double-crust burger—the homemade wheat beer cheese sauce is what really caught my attention.
When it arrived, the burger looked quite flat, but the aroma was incredibly enticing.
I started with the chips, which were perfectly cooked and didn’t need any extra salt or seasoning. They were absolutely delicious.
Then, I moved on to the burger, taking a big bite, and the flavours were really nice. I also tried a bit of one of the burger patties on its own; it was thin with a slight crispness and perfectly cooked. While the patty alone was just okay, the combination of all the ingredients together was what made it truly delicious.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable dish, and I loved every bite from start to finish.

LEMON MERINGUE TART (V)
Lemon sorbet, olive oil, lemon verbena

I couldn’t stop there—I had to try a dessert. After a quick glance at the menu, one dish immediately caught my eye, and I knew I had to order it.
When it arrived, the presentation was as lovely as all the other dishes I’d had that day, and I was eager to dig in.
Wow, this dessert was amazing! It was everything you’d expect, but what stood out to me was that the meringue wasn’t crispy. Instead, it had a smooth texture, which perfectly complemented the flavour of the lemon tart.
Once again, this is a dish I highly recommend, especially if you’re a fan of lemon meringue tarts. It’s definitely something I would order again on my next visit.

Final Thoughts…
Overall, my visit was excellent. I loved the interior, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I felt completely relaxed, the service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious.
Of the three dishes I tried, the ones that really stood out were the King scallops starter, which was absolutely amazing, and the lemon meringue tart. I highly recommend trying both if you visit. The menu offers fantastic value for money—although today’s meal was complimentary as part of an invite, I wouldn’t hesitate to say it’s well worth the price if I had paid.
