Visit & Vibes

I recently headed to North Berwick to check out the Sunflower Trail.

Before going there, I stopped in North Berwick, where I had my usual walk around town, and then it was time to get some lunch.

I remembered hearing that a particular place was known for its fish and had won several awards, so I decided to stop in and check it out.

Inside, as I expected, the decor was a bit retro. They have a seating area at the front and an even larger area at the back, so you should always be able to get a table unless it’s an extremely busy day.

The Food

Lemon Sole & Chips £17.50

I knew I wanted fish, but I wasn’t sure what kind. I looked at the menu, and one option jumped out at me because I hadn’t had it in a very long time and wanted to see how they prepared it here.

When the dish arrived, it was a very generous portion, with a lot of chips and a good-sized slice of lemon sole.

I tried the chips first; they were perfectly cooked and had a really nice taste—not greasy at all. They were very, very tasty.

Next was the fish. I took a slice, and it was lovely and flaky. The batter was perfectly crisp. With the first bite, it was exactly as I had hoped: delicious, easy to eat from start to finish, and absolutely yummy.

I really enjoyed my fish today. I could easily go back and get another one of these—that’s how tasty it was.

I’m not sure why I hadn’t visited this place sooner, especially since I come to North Berwick quite often just to walk around the shops and along the beach. So, if you’re ever in the area and feel like having fish, definitely check this place out.

Final Thoughts…

As I mentioned, I’m not sure why I hadn’t tried this place sooner.

I really enjoyed today’s lunch; it was very tasty, and perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere was pleasant as well.
