The Food
Traditional Fish & Chips £18.95
North Sea cod in The Ivy 1917 batter with mushy peas, thick cut chips and tartare sauce

Opting for the traditional fish and chips, I eagerly awaited its arrival. When the dish appeared before me, I was immediately impressed by its impeccable presentation. The North Sea Cod, golden-brown and glistening, was accompanied by a generous serving of mushy peas and chunky chips. The tantalizing aroma wafting from the plate only heightened my anticipation.
Taking my first bite of the fish, I was delighted by its tenderness and flakiness. The flavor was delightful, complemented perfectly by the tangy tartar sauce and the comforting mushy peas. Each element harmonized beautifully, leaving me thoroughly satisfied with the flavors on my palate.
Undoubtedly, the fish and chips at The Ivy Glasgow were top-notch, showcasing a delectable rendition of this classic British dish. However, it is worth noting that the price tag felt a bit steep for what it was, leaving me with mixed feelings. Nonetheless, it was undoubtedly a very enjoyable meal, delivering on the promise of a traditional and well-executed fish and chips experience.
The ambiance and service lived up to the high standards set by my previous visits, with the staff being pleasant and attentive throughout most of my time there. However, when I wished to settle the bill, I did encounter a slight challenge trying to attract the attention of the busy staff members. Nonetheless, it was a minor inconvenience that did not overshadow the overall positive experience.
