Everyone has seen ads on websites, social media, and for the past year my blog.
I thought let’s see if I can make a little extra cash to pay for my £250 a year hosting, so I decided to start with using WordPress Ads.
I will start by saying last year I had over 40k visitors and just shy of 60k page views, so surely I made a nice amount from that? wrong!
I turned on the ads at the end of 2021 and let them run till April 2022, they didn’t impact too much the readability for users and I was happy with the amount.
In a year you would think that should be a lot of money. well nope!
Total was £2.00 yip that’s all….and I didn’t spend it all at once before you ask.
I was then approached by another company to do my ads, and I thought it’s got to be better than £2 a year.
This blog started to grow so I thought perfect time to get this new one set up.
Well…one year on and did I get much more?
I did notice that when it started it grew at a fast rate but then it slowed down, even though my page views and visitors were still increasing.
So after one year with Ezoic ads, I made a whopping 23 USD, so since again, it’s very low I am disabling it so my readers get a better viewing experience again.
So as you can see you need to be getting millions of views a day to probably make any money from your blog.
There are other ways to make money from your blog but all are very difficult and do take time…I have not even tried these options.
I haven’t made much money from my blog since I started, if I am lucky let’s say maybe a max of £100 a year from other ways.
I didn’t start out to make money from this, and that’s how I will continue. I wanted to promote small, medium, and large businesses as every little helps more so with the way the world is right now.
I enjoy going out and supporting places, this is the way it should be, and if you got annoyed with the ads I am very sorry but it was a little experiment to see what other bloggers were raving about.
The above blog post review is 100% honest and has not been influenced in anyway. Its a true representation of my thoughts.
