Visit & Vibes
I was in the West End with some friends and we needed somewhere to eat, we tried a few places and came across here and lucky for us we were able to be taken.
Inside was very nice, it had a nice bright atmosphere.

The Food
When I visit an Italian restaurant for the first time there is one dish I always get, and everything else is just a random choice.
Tonight’s starter was that random choice….my main was the one that I always judge the restaurant on more.
Arancini Alla Romana (V) £8.95
Breaded rice balls stuffed with mozzarella cheese & tomato sauce, served with
spicy tomato dip.

On arrival this visually looked really good, the presentation was very pleasing to the eye and the aroma from this was also very good.
The portion size was very good, more so since it was a starter so now it was time to dig in.
This was nicely flavoured and perfectly cooked.
The flavours from this were very good, I did get more tomato flavour with only a hint of mozzarella rounding the bite off.
For me, this was a very good starter, with great flavour and the perfect portion size.

Spaghetti Carbonara £13.95
Crispy pancetta, egg yolk, black pepper & pecorino cheese.

On arrival, this looked nice, though going by the description the pancetta didn’t look crispy but maybe that was a visual thing.
I also noticed the spaghetti didn’t look like it had any of that egg sauce on it, but again this could be more a visual thing….time to taste.
I took a good bite of the spaghetti and what I saw visually was confirmed, the pancetta was cooked nice but not crispy…which was ok I wasn’t too bothered about that….but the spaghetti was oily.
Normally when spaghetti is oily it’s due to either the sauce being broken due to too much fat in the pan or not enough eggs being used or both.
Don’t get me wrong this was very tasty and one I would happily have again, I am just very fussy when it comes to carbonara as I do like a really good traditional one.
