Doppio Malto (Glasgow) 2022 : Review

Todays Visit

Today I was with a friend seeing Thor and we wanted a place to eat after the movie, and Doppio Malto was selected.

I have been here a few times and at the launch event, so it was time to go back and see how it is now.

The Food

I was very hungry today so I thought I am 100% having 3 courses and that’s what I did.

Pollo fritto- £6.50
Fried chicken wings with slightly spicy marinade, served with sun-dried tomato flavoured mayonnaise

I started with the chicken wings, as they sounded very good.

On arrival they looked really good and it was a good sized portion.

These were mega hot! temperature wise not spice.

On their own they were very nice and tender and had a nice flavour, but with the sauce it took them to another level for me.

This sauce was so so so tasty!!!! it was the perfect combination and I am glad I had it.

I would recommend this as a starter if your a chicken wing fan.

Pancetta e Fontal – £12
Beef burger with Nazionale Rognoni Fontal cheese, La Rocca PDO pancetta from Piacenza, green salad and beer flavoured mayonnaise

On arrival this looked and smelled very very good.

I tried the chips first and they were lovely skinny and had a very nice taste…now to the burger.

I took a big bite and ohh this was very very good.

The beef was tender and the flavour was very nice, I added some of the mayo on top and mmm it worked great dipping the chips in and also in the burger so so nice.

I would go to say this is in my top 3 places for burgers now, and I look forward to trying another one at my next visit.

Mini cannoli siciliani – £10.50
6 cinnamon and Marsala flavoured crunchy cannolis. Our DIY cannolis are not only delicious, but also fun to assemble and served with ricotta cheese, ground pistachio and chocolate flakes

I have had these every time I have visited here, as they are so so good!

I love how you make them up yourself…though this is a sharing dish but I didn’t share.

All I can say for these is if you like cannoli’s then you have to try these!

Best ones in Glasgow!!!!!!!

Visit Overall

Overall it was good to be back, I had a great evening and enjoyed my meal.

The food just like the last few visits was again very very good, and I left with no complaints.

I am keeping here on my Top Spots list and look forward to my next visit.
