Swadish Modern Indian Cuisine 2022 : Review

The Visit

Ajay invited me to come along to try some desserts, but on arrival he also wanted me to try some dishes that I have never tried.

As you have seen I have been a lot but there were a few dishes I had not tried yet and tonight I would try 2 new ones.

Starter

Roasted Masala Lamb Chops (normally £17)
Scottish Prime Lamb Chops marinated in Ginger, Garlic, Peppercorns, Fennel Seeds, Garam Masala, Mint Chutney, Spiced Pomegranate Reduction.

Lamb chops are something I would never think to order, as other dishes tend to jump out at me but Ajay said I should give them a try.

On arrival, this looked very interesting, but it was time time to taste and see how they were.

I took a bite and it blew my mind! the meat was super tender and melted in my mouth, the flavour was amazing and with the reduction wow! Why didn’t I order this sooner!

This was completely finished and I would say it’s now my favourite starter and highly recommend you try it.

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Main Course

Banana Leaf Wrapped Sea Bream (Normally £18)
Mediterranean Sea Bream fillet marinated with Tomato Masala, Raw Mango, Green Coconut Chutney and Gunpowder Asparagus, Boiled Rice.

I had tried a few fish dishes but neve this, and Ajay said I should give it a try and since his recommendation for my starter was perfect I said ok.

On arrival I started to think “what do I do here, do I eat from the leaf or take it out”…I just went with my gut instinct.

Opening the leaf the aroma of the fish hit me and it was so so good.

Time to taste…

I tried the fish on its own, and it was packed with flavour, perfectly cooked as it just melted in my mouth. I tried the asparagus and again mmm and then everything together and WOW

I know I sound like every time I go here and have something its always amazing…well it is! that’s why I keep going back!

I will be ordering this again!

Dessert

Ghevar mille feuilles (normally £9)
Crisp ghewar shards, saffron cream, dulce de leche, seasonal fruits

Ajay wanted me to try two desserts that were going to be released soon on the new menu, and this was one of them.

Firstly lets start with the presentation, how amazing does this look! as they say you eat with your eyes first, and this ticked all the boxes!

I have never heard of this before, or tried this so i was very exited to see how it would taste.

I made sure I got a little of everything, and took a bite.

The first thing to hit me was all the flavours then the texture of the ghewar shards, these are like a honeycomb texture but much fluffier.

This was such a good dessert, and was perfect after a big meal as it was very light but so so tasty.

Keep watching for this on the menu and do check it out.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Chocolate Creameux (normally £9.50)
praline cream, sesame crisp, raspberry sorbet

Another dessert coming to the new menu is this one, and this sounded right up my street…you know me and chocolate and sweet stuff and this sounded and on arrival looked super sweet.

I took a bite and I was in heaven! it was so smooth, amazing chocolate flavour and I loved every mouthful.

The raspberry sorbet was perfect, the flavour was so good and a combo of everything was a perfect balance of textures and flavours.

Here is another one for you guys to try when the new menu gets launched.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
