Visit & Vibes

I was here for the pre-launch night, which was really good, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening, from the ambience and atmosphere to the food that was being served.

The dishes were small samples of what would later feature on the menu, and I enjoyed them so much that I knew I had to come back and try it properly. For tonight’s visit, I came with a friend who also wanted to check the place out, and we were both really looking forward to the evening and tasting the food.

Ajay already has his first restaurant, Swadish, located in Merchant City, which holds two AA Rosettes. Swadish has been a favourite of mine since it opened, You get top-quality service, stunning presentation, and every plate just tastes absolutely amazing.

Grilled, however, has a much more relaxed atmosphere. There are traditional tables as well as bar seating, giving off a casual yet stylish vibe. Whether you’re looking for a few small plates or a full-on barbecue feast, this place caters to all appetites.

Having a look at the menu, everything sounded really good, and I honestly didn’t know what to choose.

I decided to go for this dish as it was one I didn’t get to sample at the pre-launch, so I was keen to try it properly and see what it was like.

When it arrived, the presentation was excellent, and the aroma from the dish was just as impressive. Taking my first bite, I tried the prawn on its own without any sauce, and wow, it was extremely tasty. The prawn was perfectly cooked, with a beautifully crisp batter and amazing flavour. I then tried it with the sauce, which was also very good, though it really didn’t need anything extra as it was already perfect on its own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this dish from start to finish and can highly recommend it. It’s definitely one I would order again on my next visit.

The next dish I ordered was this one. From the pre-launch, I remembered that everything from the grill was super tasty, so I knew this dish wouldn’t disappoint.

When it arrived, the presentation was once again really nice, and the aroma was incredible. Trying the chicken on its own, you could really taste the grill flavours. It was perfectly cooked, with excellent seasoning, and the flavour was absolutely spot on. The chicken was lovely and tender, everything about this dish was amazing.

Once again, this was a dish that didn’t disappoint at all. I highly recommend it, and it’s definitely something I would order again on my return.

Final Thoughts…

Overall, it was great to be back, both for tonight’s meal and after attending the pre-launch. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and everything we tried. All of the dishes were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. It’s really good to see the place doing so well.
