Reflecting on 2025 with my blogging

This year has been a very interesting and somewhat strange one for my blogging life. If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know that I purchased a house and went through a major renovation. Due to budget constraints, I had to make a few compromises along the way, but eventually, I moved in. Then came the reality of adulthood, managing bills, budgeting carefully, and working to clear my renovation debt.

It’s definitely felt like a different kind of year for me. Normally, I’d be out a lot socialising, going to the cinema, trying new restaurants, and attending events, but this year has mostly been me and my house. It hasn’t been the most entertaining year, but it’s been a necessary one. I needed to focus on getting my finances back on track after the house purchase and renovation, which pretty much drained all my savings.

That said, I haven’t been completely stuck at home! Early in the year, I went on a few drives with friends, and I’ve had a handful of lovely invites throughout the year. I even treated myself to a little solo holiday in Alicante, my first proper break in about five or six years. It was exactly what I needed to recharge after such a busy and expensive few years.

Looking ahead, I’m hoping 2026 will bring a bit more normality back to my blogging life. A few bills will be paid off (finally!), which means I can start going out more again. I’ve got a long list of places I want to visit and revisit, especially those restaurants I promised I’d return to. I always like to keep my word, so hopefully, you’ll start to see more posts, more reviews, and plenty of dishes to tickle your taste buds!

Happy New Year!
