INVITED

Visit & Vibes
I was recently invited to Dunbar to visit a pizza restaurant called Hector’s. Funny enough, I had actually been there about three years ago during a drive where I stopped at different places along the way. One of those stops was Dunbar for dinner, where I ended up at Hector’s. For this new visit, I decided not to look back at my old review—I wanted to experience it again with fresh eyes.

On arrival, the team was very welcoming and showed me to my table. The place still had that cool, relaxed vibe, with plenty of seating and a spotless, clean interior.

The Food

Dough Sticks £n/a today (normally £5)
Artisan bread sticks with option of garlic butter or olive oil & balsamic vinegar.

For my starter, I went for the dough sticks with garlic butter. They were nicely presented, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.
The dough sticks on their own were perfectly cooked, with a light seasoning and great flavour. But when paired with the garlic butter—wow! It really lifted them to another level, adding that rich, garlicky kick. They were incredibly moreish, and I enjoyed every bite from start to finish.

BBQ Chicken Pizza £n/a today (Normally £16.50)
BBQ base, marinated BBQ chicken, caramelised onion & mozzarella.

For my main, I chose the barbecue chicken pizza. It caught my eye as soon as I looked at the menu, and I knew I had to try it.
On arrival, the pizza looked fantastic—the aroma was inviting, and the size was just right.
Digging in, I tried my first slice, and it was packed with flavour. It was perfectly cooked, and you could taste each topping individually while also enjoying how well they blended together. The result was a really delicious, well-balanced pizza.
It was very filling—though that might also have been because I had a starter! Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. If you’re a fan of barbecue chicken, this is definitely a pizza you should try when you visit.

Final Thoughts…
Overall, I was glad to return. I remember the last time I came here with a friend, we both said we had a great meal and a lovely time. Just like then, I really enjoyed myself today and had another excellent experience.
If you’re in the area—or even just passing through—make sure to stop by and check them out. Their pizzas are truly worth trying. And if you’re as full as I was after your meal, you can always take a short walk down to the harbour to enjoy the beautiful views.
