I was recently invited to come and check this place out, and I couldn’t wait—I’m a big fan of fish and chips!


Tonight was a pre-launch event for family, friends, and bloggers, giving us a chance to sample what this spot has to offer before it officially opens. By the time you’re reading this blog, it’s probably already open.

The interior has a modern and relaxing vibe—everything looks great. It was also spotless, which really stood out. If you didn’t know, this place is run by Jack O’Brien, who also runs the fantastic Jack O’Brien’s in Fife (which I’ve been to and absolutely loved!). So I knew I was definitely in for a treat.

The Food

After receiving a welcome drink, I sat down and took a look around. As I mentioned at the start of this post, the place has been beautifully decorated, giving off a very cosy and relaxing family vibe.

Before long, the canapés started making their way around. We were given a great selection—Mackerel pâté with crispy seaweed, smoked salmon blini with caviar, and deep-fried oyster, just to name a few—and every single one was amazing. I was so glad they came round a second time so I could sneak in another taste. Yes, I was a bit naughty… but to be fair, everyone else did the same, so I just joined in!

The fish and chips

After a few rounds of delicious canapés, it was time for the main event—fish and chips.

The fish and chips were served in a classic fish shop-style box. You could help yourself to salt, vinegar, and a selection of sauces to go along with it.

The chips were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. The fish had a beautifully thin, crispy batter, and the fish itself was flaky and full of flavour. Everything came together for what I can confidently say was an excellent portion of fish and chips.

In terms of quality and flavour, this is definitely up there for me—one of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time.

As the evening came to a close, there was a heartfelt speech from the team behind the project. It was genuinely moving. You could see just how much love and passion they’ve poured into this. It’s clearly their pride and joy, and they’re incredibly excited to share it with the world. I’ve no doubt this place is going to do brilliantly.
