I recently returned to Little Italy to catch up with friends, as it had been a while since we last met. The time was filled with great conversations and laughter from start to finish. We were meeting for a late lunch turned dinner, and I couldn’t wait to get some food since I was really hungry.

The Food

Meatball Soup

A new addition to the specials board was meatball soup, available in two sizes: a small portion or a large one. We all opted for the small portion since we wanted to leave room for our mains. The soup was beautifully presented, and the aroma was delightful. It even came with a slice of focaccia, which is always a nice touch.

As I dug into the soup, I found it to be incredibly tasty, and I’m not usually a fan of soup. Normally, I only choose soup when there’s nothing else appealing on the menu, but this one was genuinely delicious. The meatballs were perfectly cooked and had a wonderful flavor.

This was an excellent starter, and as I mentioned, it’s a new addition to their specials. If you’re a soup lover or just looking for something light for a late lunch, this is absolutely perfect and definitely worth trying.

Quattro Formaggi
Penne in a creamy parmesan, gruyere, gorgonzola & mozzarella sauce, topped with chives

Last time I was here, I noticed a pasta dish I hadn’t tried yet, and I thought today would be the perfect day to give it a go. It was the Quattro Formaggi penne pasta.

As a big fan of four cheese pizzas, I knew a four cheese pasta would be just as good. When it arrived, the presentation was lovely, and the portion size was generous. The aroma was incredible—you could smell all the different cheeses, and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the four cheese sauce was amazing—super tasty. You could really taste all the different cheeses, especially the stronger one, which was great for me because I love strong cheeses. That little extra kick in the sauce was just perfect.

I’m so glad I tried this today. It’s definitely a dish I would order again, and if you’re a four cheese lover, I highly recommend checking this out—it’s absolutely worth trying.

Flatbread with mozz & caramelised onions

Along with the meal today, we also ordered flatbread with cheese and caramelised onions.

This was the perfect tear-and-share side, and everyone had a slice.

It was incredibly tasty. I’m a big fan of caramelised onions, and combined with the cheese on the flatbread, it made for a delicious side dish—perfect to accompany our meal today.

Cannoli

To end our meal, I had to finish on a sweet note, and a cannoli seemed like the perfect choice. When it arrived, it was the larger size, and I couldn’t wait to dig in as it looked fantastic.

The cannoli shell was wonderfully crispy, and the filling was creamy—a perfect combination. It hit the spot, and I have to admit, I could have easily had another one, or even two, that’s how much I enjoyed it. Definitely worth trying if you have a sweet tooth like me!

Final Thoughts…

Overall, today’s visit was excellent, and it was great to catch up again. As I mentioned, they’ve added a new starter, the meatball soup, which is definitely worth trying. It’s super tasty and works well as a light bite, or you can opt for the larger portion as a main.
