The Falls of Lora Hotel Lunch 2025 : Review

Visit & Vibes

Recently, I went on a drive with some friends to visit a church and explore some castle ruins. As it was nearing lunchtime, we started looking for a place to eat.

We stumbled upon The Falls of Lora Hotel and decided to stop there for lunch. The interior was cosy and welcoming, with a stunning real log fire at the centre of the room. I could easily imagine myself sitting by the fire, sipping hot chocolate with marshmallows and toasting them—though, of course, that wouldn’t be allowed! Still, the thought perfectly captured just how warm and inviting the room felt.

The Food

Menu Choice★★★★★

Freshly Battered Fillet of Haddock £14.90
Served with chips, salad and tartare sauce

Looking at the menu, everything was reasonably priced, and a few dishes stood out to me. However, I decided to go with the battered fillet of haddock since I was in the mood for fish and chips.

When the dish arrived, the presentation was nice, and the aroma was tempting—I couldn’t wait to dig in.

I started with the chips, which were perfectly cooked—crispy and exactly how I liked them. They didn’t need any extra salt, as they already tasted great, which I was happy about.

Moving on to the fish, it was also perfectly cooked. It had a lovely flavour, was nice and flaky, and the batter had a delightful crispness. Altogether, it made for a really good fish and chips. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch, and it was very filling too.
