The Final Touches
As you may have noticed, for the past one and a half months, I’ve been renovating my new house—literally tearing it apart and putting it back together. It’s cost me a fortune, but the end result is absolutely amazing.
One particular room I’d like to talk about in this blog is my bedroom. After completing everything—from painting the skirting boards and installing spotlights to adding a brand-new wardrobe—it was finally time to choose and fit the perfect carpet.
I didn’t need to do much research or give much thought to where I would get my carpet. One of my friends works at a carpet shop that opened this year on Cambuslang Main Street, called Step by Step, and I wanted to support their business. That’s why I’m writing this review. Even though he’s a friend, this is an honest assessment.
We arranged for him to come out and measure the space, assess what was needed for the job, and then it was just a matter of me visiting the shop, choosing a carpet, and getting a price.
The shop itself is well laid out, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Besides carpets, they also offer flooring, so it’s definitely worth checking out—especially if you live in or near the area. Their prices are very competitive.
During my visit, I was shown different levels of carpet quality, which I really appreciated. They didn’t just push the most expensive options. They were happy to work within my budget and show me what they had that would fit.
Once I chose the carpet based on the colour and quality and received the price, we set a date for the installation.
I was actually at work when the carpet was being fitted, but my father, who helped me throughout the entire renovation process, kindly offered to go to the house and let the installers in. When I returned home after work, I was blown away by the transformation. The bedroom finally looked like a proper bedroom, though it still lacked furniture. It was a big step in the right direction, and the carpet installation was top-notch—I was extremely happy with the result.
Overall, the entire process, from start to finish, was excellent. I have no complaints. The staff at the shop were incredibly helpful, ensuring I got exactly what I wanted while staying within my budget. The service was great, and I highly recommend checking them out if you’re in need of carpets or any other type of flooring
