Visit & Vibes
I’m back at Nakadar Grill on Duke Street, once again for a Christmas work lunch.
This time, I’ve opted for something different than what I ordered last year, and also a wee blog blog review.
Similar to last year, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The service tonight was exceptional. Inside, the decor seemed unchanged, at least from what I could observe.
However, my focus was on the food, and being quite hungry, I couldn’t wait to place my order.

The Food
GOAN SCALLOPS (3 PIECES) (£n/a today normally £10.95)
Grilled sea scallops in coconut milk with curry leaves & pepper

For my starter today, I opted for the Goan scallops—grilled sea scallops in coconut milk with curry leaves and pepper.
Being a fan of scallops, provided they are cooked to perfection, I was eagerly anticipating this dish, especially given the enticing combination of curry and coconut.
Upon arrival, I found myself a bit disappointed with the presentation; the curry dominated the visual aspect, with the scallops relegated to a side role. This dish could have been significantly enhanced by a delicate drizzle of this sauce over the scallops. Nevertheless, let’s delve into the taste experience.
The curry, resembling a korma sauce, proved to be delectable, and the scallops were impeccably cooked, boasting an impressive size. However, the overall harmony was disrupted as the curry overshadowed the delicate flavour of the scallops, which is unfortunate.
Had there been a slight drizzle of sauce over the dish, it had the potential to evolve into an outstanding starter. While it was enjoyable, I would consider revisiting it, and requesting a reduced amount of sauce for a more balanced experience next time.

TANDOORI LAMB CHOPS £n/a tonight normally £18.95
Succulent peppered lamb chops grilled to perfection.

I recalled savouring the lamb chops during a previous visit, and having enjoyed them immensely, I decided to order them once again.
Today, I had the pleasure of sharing my main course with a colleague who opted for the Tandoori Salmon.
Upon arrival, the presentation was appealing, and the enticing aroma heightened our anticipation. Eager to indulge, I couldn’t wait to dig in and experience the flavours.
The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, boasting an incredible flavour profile. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, showcasing tenderness and overall enjoyment.
If you happen to visit this place, I wholeheartedly recommend trying this dish.
It’s a dish that promises a memorable dining experience.

TANDOORI SALMON £n/a today normally £17.95
Fresh Scottish salmon cooked in our unique clay oven.

For my second main course today, I opted for the Tandoori Salmon, as mentioned in my previous post where I shared my meal with the Lamb Chops.
Upon arrival, my initial impression was a momentary confusion as the salmon seemed hidden by the peppers. However, a quick rotation of the dish revealed two lovely pieces of salmon.
After plating, I took the first bite of the salmon on its own. It was impeccably cooked, exhibiting delightful flakiness, a wonderful flavour, and a remarkably light texture.
Given the option of a sauce, I chose the chilli garlic, which complemented the dish well. However, for future visits, I might lean towards a sauce with a lighter flavour profile to maintain a better balance.
This dish proved to be another flavorful delight, and I highly recommend trying it on your visit here.
