Visit & Vibes

Embarking on a weekend rendezvous with family in the picturesque Cotswolds was the plan, and what a destination it turned out to be!

The journey, a 6-hour drive from Glasgow, stretched into a 10-hour odyssey due to unexpected traffic and closed junctions (a tale best left untold). Nevertheless, the anticipation to reunite with family and explore the charming surroundings kept my spirits high.

My aunt booked this so all details of location, rules, and keypad entry details were sent to her, and from what I heard it was a very smooth experience.

Arrival and Check-In

Approaching the Cart Shed, our anticipation was slightly dimmed by the late hour and enveloping darkness upon our arrival. However, as we were granted entry through the gated passage, the building’s gentle illumination emerged. The exterior came to life, casting a warm glow that heightened our excitement. Eagerly, we navigated around the well-lit structure, each step building our anticipation to step inside and unveil the hidden charm within.

Bedroom and Bathroom

Following a journey fraught with Glasgow’s quirks, we finally landed here. Once the laughter and warmth with family settled, it was time to explore our quarters and embrace the promise of a restful night’s sleep.

I curated a blend of my photos and those from the official website, aiming to capture the essence.

My room, equipped with two single beds and an en-suite, was a mixed bag.

While I can’t vouch for the other rooms’ bathroom cleanliness, the ones upstairs shared a single bathroom—slightly unexpected.

Initial impressions were positive; the bathroom exuded elegance.

My priority, however, was much-needed sleep.

Post-rest, the spacious bedroom unveiled itself, complete with a wardrobe housing a hairdryer. A lack of a mirror in the bedroom was noticeable, despite one in the bathroom.

The bathroom, though clean and spacious, lacked razor charging points. The motion-detecting light’s intermittent outage during showers prompted whimsical waving.

Kitchen/ Lounge Area

Upon arrival, I caught a brief glimpse of this area. However, after a restful night’s sleep, I could appreciate it more this morning.

Wow, look at that kitchen! It was very spacious and had a lovely design.

The lounge area exuded a cozy and modern vibe.

While seated in the lounge, one could enjoy a fantastic view of either the kitchen or the picturesque scenery outside.

Sitting here, I felt truly relaxed, and the comfortable furniture added to the overall comfort.

Location and Accessibility

In terms of location, it’s nestled far out in the countryside, surrounded by narrow country roads. However, this provides a wonderfully peaceful and scenic setting.

Regrettably, access to the Cart Shed is decent, but once in the hall, the bedrooms (excluding the main one) are upstairs. Additionally, there are four stairs to descend into the kitchen area and lounge.

It might be worth checking the accessibility of their other locations, as they could offer better options. Before booking, consider double-checking or reaching out to them for confirmation.

Final Thoughts…

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. If my savings were in better shape and I weren’t in the midst of a renovation, I would certainly return. While the place lacked some necessary finishing touches, it remained a genuinely cozy and pleasant accommodation overall.
